. The Collectionby: Steppenwolf Release Date June 02, 2003 I used to have Steppenwolf compilation on Vinyl - not this one - but it got mislaid somewhere. Didn't miss it too much. I was always disappointed that they mimed on "The Whistle Test", this was a vehicle for great live bands and they were supposed to be one of them. It left me feeling they were fakes but I recently caught John Kay & a reformed Steppenwolf doing a real live set and it was excellent. Made me look for a 'best of' again. This compilation seemed to include most of the good stuff I had on the vinyl (although I'd hoped to get "Snowblind Friend" again - a sad omission) and a few other things I hadn't heard.
