. The Mask and the Mirrorby: Loreena McKennitt Release Date November 27, 2006 Loreena McKennit is a very skilful musician and she combines simple themes with complex arragements. The music is traditional-celtic-folk style with a new-age twist. The musicians who perform on this CD are to a very high standard and the mixing is done well so that all instruments can be heard properly. A great deal of work has gone into producing this album, as has been done with Loreena's later work. The pieces are all very different, though "Bonny Swans" does get rather tedious and there's a tendency to fast-forward to the next track after one minute of it. However, if you like traditional celtic folk music, you're sure to enjoy this one. |
