Golden Nuggets: a Selection of Northern and Modern Soul Winnersby: Various Artists Release Date November 29, 2004 What a good and varied album - tracks like Pressure which I've always known to be great, Fool who's greatness I'd forgotten, and the Lisa Stansfield tour de force 8-3-1 which I should have been warned about in advance. I just wasn't prepared for how staggeringly good this catchy little number is - you may have guessed that I rather liked this track. Lisa does a brilliant live version of this on her Ronnie Scotts DVD. It's available to view on Youtube. Anyway if when a child you liked suprise presents try this cd - a veritable box of delights ! |
