Sittin' Inby: Dizzy Gillespie Stan Getz Coleman Hawkins Paul Gonsalves Release Date May 16, 2005 This album, featuring Stan Getz, Paul Gonsalves, Coleman Hawkins, Dizzy Gillespie and Wyton Kelly is a sublime record of a unique event. The stellar cast do not disappoint (though Hawks sounds a little rough). Paul Gonsalves gives a breathtaking rendition of "Without a Word of Warning", proving he was the master balladeer of the time. This is a fact remarked upon by Stan Getz in the liner notes ("we were all gassed by Paul's playing on this date man!"). He also refers to Gonsalves as being a very underated player, which indeed he was and indeed, still is.
