. No Cities Leftby: Dears Release Date August 28, 2006 I first got to hear this band at Glastonbury in 2005. I'd heard a couple of their tracks prior to this, which was enough for me to make the effort and go to see them. I was not disappointed. I've now had this album for about 6 months, and it's grown in my estimations from merely "good" to "absolutely stunning". Vocally, there are threads of Damon Albarn and Morrissey running through this record, but the band still manage to pull of an album that remains uniquely their own. There is a distinctly chilled out but dark feel to the album: think of Blur's "13", throw in some Portishead and shake with a little bit of Goldfrapp's "Felt mountain", and you'll be getting closer.
