. Aspects Of Loveby: Michael Reed Original London Cast Release Date November 07, 2005 This is one of the best of ALW's, a pretty much perfect piece. Not everyone liked the original production because there was no great set to watch. For those days it was a relatively simple production. I went several times to see this show and caught the original line up. Michael Ball was and is on the recording excellent and he had just the right voice for the music written for Alex, something that to me has been a problem in later casting and other productions. Ann Crumb is the definitive Rose, there has never been another since that caught the essence of the character so perfectly. The nearest being Kathryn Evans she was excellent.
