Back to Mine - Liam Howlett: Compiled By Liam Howlettby: Prodigy Release Date January 30, 2006 I suppose this is supposed to be in the great John Peel tradition of slamming different musical genres and different eras together back-to-back to create a rich, varied and contrasting experience. At times, however, it feels more like a rather lazy exercise in picking old records at random. You could achieve the same thing by plucking items from almost any half-decent long-term collection. Mr. Howlett isn't taking us anywhere new, and he must be having a laugh by ending with an ELO track. I expect some of your own compilation tapes/CDs are better. I know mine are. |
