It is interesting in a musical sense and rewards concentrated listening as one constantly discovers new solos and musical phrases and passages to appreciate. It is full of contrasting musical colours and textures. Whilst remaining true to rhythm'n'blues-based rock traditions it brings to bear so many other musical idioms. There is an underlying feel of laid back funk and latin percussion but this is integrated with some wonderful soul-jazz grooves ala Jimmy Smith and Grant Green and some latin jazz reminiscent of Herbie Mann.
