. Trojan Dancehall Box Setby: Various Artists Release Date February 26, 2008 I have only a very limited knowledge of Dancehall but this was not what I expected. It sits very nicely with the rest of my Trojan box sets (Rastafari, Dub 1 and 2, Ganja and Roots). If you have these and like them, you will be pleased by this box set too. Dub heads in particular will be surprised. If you have King Tubby's dangerous dub (greensleeves) you will recognise a lot of the version on here. As it says on the sleevenotes this box set covers the beginnings of Dancehall reggae and is much more like a tribute to the Roots Radics/King Tubby and others (lovers rock) from this period. Disc 3 in particular stands out. |
