Tennessee Pusherby: Old Crow Medicine Show Release Date September 23, 2008 This,the third OCMS album, is a real step up.Having negotiated the dangers of the tricky second album by keeping it short and sweet and more of the same, this time they've taken a much more mature route and accordingly have changed producers to Don Was, not always the best choice,but here he does a good job.There's still plenty of bluegrass, but this album shows off their other influences and they're as diverse as Chuck Berry and Neil Young. There's a very strong Gram Parsons influence that encompasses his work with the Byrds and the Flying Burrito Brothers as well as his solo albums.And there are echoes of Jackson Browne,too.All, in my book, pretty good artists to be influenced by.Of course, all this might put off some fans who just want more ...
