Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Forget Superman, this is the Spider-Man 2 of music
I, like 95% of the people who have bought this album, bought it for Superman, and yes, it is a very good tune. However, the band made the great decision to have it as the lead in track of the album and get it out of the way, and then we get into the meat of the album. And it's as meaty as Meat Loaf's dinner.
Goldfinger are a band who like to mix it up a bit. They havn't spent their whole career playing just ska, or just punk, or just metal. In fact, in the space of one album they traditionally cover all three mediums and more. John's vocals provide the right growl for grown man angst that is terribly believable, even more so when you realise the depths of his beliefs (see open your eyes for one of the messages he is trying to get across).
That isn't to say Goldfinger are a deeply serious band all about changing the world. Hell no. They provide plenty of laughs in songs such as 'Chris Clayton' and 'If Only' (you have to give credit to anyone who can right the A-Team into their songs), but their music can also be touching. '20 cent goodbye' and 'this lonely place' speak volumes to the everyday human condition, and also get you singing along almost effortlessly.
My standout track would have to be 'My Head'. The strength of the guitars and the majestic flow of the lyricscome together to form a musical tour de force that get a permenant spot on my CD player.
This is definately the place to start if you want to discover Goldfinger, even if you just want to stop by for Superman. That big song could have been the bands kryptonite, but on this album it shows that there are bigger things than the man of steel. Like Doomsday. Get it?

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - bouncy ska punk with a cutting edge of metal
i brought this album after buying "open your eyes" and hearing "superman" on tony hawks skateboarding.
it kicks of with this song which is the best ska punk song i have ever heard. this sets the scene well for the rest of the album. the album goes along very well with notbaly metal influenced tunes which sudenly kick into a bouncy ska riff and back to a heaveir riff again. this combo goes together surprisngly well. there are some more mellow songs on the album also the inclusion of horns(despite goldfinger not actually having any horn players). i would recomend this album to any ska punk fan or if you a fan of more punk or metal you may also enjoy this album.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Skanking Vibes
Brought to public attention by the inclusion of 'Superman' in the music for the Tony Hawk Skateboarding game Goldfinger have risen higher and higher in the league of quality skank from this small beggining. 'Hang Ups' was the realease that brought them into the big time and their luck was well deserved because of the sheer originality and sumptuousness of the tracks on this album.Their mix of reggae, ska and punk could have formed a highly dangerous moltov cocktail of genres and flopped but instead Goldfinger have pulled off a classic skank album with several noteable tracks such as 'Superman' 'If Only' and 'Question'.Their most exquisite work to date.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - An album you won't forget.
Although many say that Goldfinger tried to cash in on the early 90s ska trend, this makes no affect to how good the music, which is a very high standard. The album kicks off whith "superman", the song many people know from the first Tony Hawks game. Things get a little bit heavier on the second track ans slows right down on the third track. This change of pace is evident throghout the album. It has a great variety, as some tracks are pure ska, some are straight punk rock and some even have a reggae style. Goldfinger are very imaginative with their music. There are plenty of great songs on it too, the best for me being Superman, My Head, Disorder and The Last Time. Due to the variety of the album and the quality of the songs, this is an album you'll never get bored of. it is just a shame they don't get the audience they deserve. Buy it know. This is Goldfinger's best album to date

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Undoubtably goldfinger @ there best!
This album is absolutley fantastic. Its goldfinger in their Ska days. There are loads of stand out tracks such as superman, question and a very heavy but amusing song titled "Skiers must perish." It is by far their best album, and is a definate for any Goldfinger fans who doesn't have their own copy of it!
