Carter Burwell has written a number of moving scores, accompanying strong musical styles and emotive chords that make Burwell's music so easy to recognise. Doc Hollywood is not too different from the rest of his scores. It manages to pull off a very emotional love theme without making it "cheesy" and at the same time emphasising the country melodies juxtaposed against the big city grind.
Aside from being a fantastic film in itself, the score only helps it further; its quirky and original style livens up the film. This score is a must for anyone who enjoys Carter Burwell scores, as well as anyone else who enjoys excellent film music.
Overall, if you are a Burwell fan then you should get this one before it is out of print. If you are not a fan of his especially, but you like cool spring days with light music throughout the house, then pick this one up. In a word, this score is..."fun."
