Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - Signifies all that was awful about 1980s production values
The only criticism of Jeff Beck's 1970s masterpieces -- BLOW BY BLOW and WIRED -- is the absence of his own compositions. Here, without George Martin or Narada Michael Walden, he has a go. You can't hate them, but there's little to love in these mediocre tunes. Track #5, for instance, is a virtual copy of anything from Terje Rypdal's 1977 opus, AFTER THE RAIN, but just 12 years late.

But like much of Bill Bruford's work of the 1980s, the biggest sin committed on this album is the electronic drum sound. I just can't believe this is the same Terry Bozzio who was so key to the success of Frank Zappa's ZOOT ALLURES and BONGO FURY. An incredible disappointment.

If you think you really might enjoy this album, the best way to acquire it is as the third disc in the 3-CD set from Sony, also containing the two album I mentioned in the first sentence.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Hey axe heads
It's all about the drummer. Jeff Becks great but Bozzio weaved the magic here. An amazing album, check it out!

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - Technique before Content
This is one of the poorest albums I have bought recently. Jeff Beck may be a consummate guitarist but this album is completely bereft of composition. The production is dated and overall it is a slightly sad technical exercise.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - great
This is sipmply a fantastic album. Just the track 'where were you' is enough to make me want to buy it, but all of the tracks are fantastic, jeff is definately the greatest guitar player alive today, possibly ever. buy it or miss out

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - A Guitar Genius
With his individual and quirky style , Mr Beck infuses the collection of songs here with humour and genuine emotion . For me , the stand out tracks are Where Were You and Two Rivers - amazing use of the tremolo arm to create melody . In fact , these two songs were the reasons I bought the album , and they crop up regularly on compilations I make .
