- Been a long time.............
Nowadays the gruff, roaring vocals & wall of sound riffs have become the norm. This to my mind is where Disturbed have really outshone their counterparts. This album uses intricate melody, resplendant vocals & damn aggressive & tight backing. It's one of those bands where every musician can be heard, at some points it's almost euphoric! The end result is an album of such calibre it simply must be bought, these tracks are real blinders! Maybe not quite as heavy as their previous release, but don't let this put you off. There's some serious work gone into this one, the results really show how talented these guys are. This band are definitely evolving & improving at a rapid rate, must restate how good the vocalist is, a blinding album.

anyone who 'believes' this to be a better album than the sickness needs their head testing. Where the sickness was in your face, different and thoroughly rocking, believe is dour, 2D and predictable. the only redeeming factor is draimans vocals, but there is nothing on this album that surpasses the greatness of stupify or voices, let alone the title track. when i heard prayer i thought this album would b a good one, but it is the only stand out track ,and frankly im bored of listening to it now. If you want a awesome album thats slightly different from the crowd, buy Finch's what it is to burn. now theres an album.

If you have heard the first album,DOWN WITH THE SICKNESS,you ll know what to expect.But the second offering gives the listener something different.Of course you get the heavy guitar rifts associated with Disturbed but lead singer David Draimann makes his vocals stand out more,giving the songs more meaning.PRAYER is a classic already,using the usual ingrediants already familiar with Disturbed fans but seemingly this time the rage and aggression is more controlled.The shock of the album is on the last track,DARKNESS.This shows that the snarling Draimann can actually sing,and the song is surprisingly good.Overall the album exceeds the first and is a must for Disturbed fans.

I've only just recently got into Disturbed and don't yet own The Sickness; so obviously i can't compare this to it. All i can say is that this is a truly awesome album. I smply had to buy it after hearing Prayer on kerrang and i'm glad i did. Draiman's vocals, amazing guitar riffs and slamming drums all come together to create a great album.
my favourite tracks are Prayer, Liberate and Breathe, bu the whole album is amazing. One of the best albums this year. I've sinply gotta get The Sickness now

Wow, And i honestly thought after their first album, that they wouldnt be able to top it, but i was wrong, ever from the get go, with the powerful pre release single "Prayer" To The Chillingly gentle "Darkness", This album should be owned by not only Disturbed fans, but those people that love rock at its finest. The Powerful Vocals are backed up, by the impressive talent of the band,and with so much feeling and brutality In their songs, its unreal.
