- Comfortably Numb
Of course this is not the same as Pink Floyd. Of course Floyds will always be the best. In my opinion, a good cover is one that is reworked so it does not sound like the original, otherwise why cover it. For this reason I enjoyed the cover as it is so different there's no way it can ruin the (obviously superior) original.
I think this music is different, light-hearted and fun, which makes a change when so much stuff all sounds the same these days.

- If it's pop thrills a go-go you're after, they've got it.
These guys made this music themselves at their own studio, they didn't get other producers to 'lend' a certain sound and is to be commended. The band give you their own passion, their own sound and their own inventiveness.
It's not to every ones' taste but these guys don't care. They are making music and having fun and are not trying to conform. They prove that pop music is at its best when it lets nothing-not genre lines, not popular trends, not rules-stand in the way of a good song.
It stays in my CD player in the car and is often cranked up at the end of a hard day !!
I eagerly await the new album !!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've always liked the Scissor Sisters namely because they don't try to be something they're not. They have their own style and produce great pop music which is so catchy. Their Pink Floyd cover 'Comfortably Numb' is unforgettable. Although it is a far cry from the original the sisters have injected their own style into it which in turn makes it different from most cover versions. 'Take Your Mama' is a funny little song which always makes me smile, 'Mary' is a deep, haunting ballad and the vocals are nothing short of outstanding. 'Laura' is fairly uplifting and 'Filthy/Gorgeous' is amazing. I just love that song. The other songs on the album are great as well. I think scissor sisters will be around for a while to come yet. The album is superb. My advice to anyone who hasn't bought this album yet is to get down to the record shop and buy a copy. A fantastic effort.

Who doesn't like this Classy sassy band? anyone with an open mind.
i bought this album in 2004, and it's seldom left my CD player. if you're down or miserable sit back and turn the volume on this album, scissor sisters will soon have you up on your feet and jumping around like a loony.
garranteed to put the smile back on your face, they do a stunning job over cover comfortablely numb, and that's coming from a fan of the original!!
so this isn't some peoples taste, but i haven't heard many people do better covers of songs then them. they're not trying to be anything but who they are, in their own words, 'we are just avid music fans', scissor sisters, we salute you.

This will open your ears to a brilliant group - the lyrics for Mary and Laura in particular are sublime with hauntingly lovely backing tracks and the overall feel to the CD is imaginative and inventive and leaves you desparate for more ... how long do we have to wait?
