- Comfortabley mind-numbing
Much against my will, I find the Scissor Sisters quite entertaining. The song 'Laura', for example, is catchy and really pretty good. The reason for my grudgingness about the band is their unbelievably atrocious desecration of one of my favourite Floyd tracks. The cover of 'Comfortabley Numb' has the effect of making one angry, amused, despairing and physically sick all at once. To me it was an insurmountable obstacle in my enjoyment of the album. Push it to one side, however, and you have a record which, although enormously overrated, is perfectly mindless fun.

This film is the ultimate in slightly-cheesy-campy-disco-rock! There's a hint of 70's disco and new millenium individuality, and it really is an album for those who appreciate the finer music in life (and by finer, I mean FUN!)
I, personally, love this album. There are the dancey tunes so you can get your boogie on (I mean, who doesn't know "Laura"? And "Music is The Victim" is a real toe tapper), there are the almost 'cosmic' dancey tunes (Like my favourite, 'Comfortably Numb') and they even include the slow, melodic, smoochy tunes too :) (Take "Mary" for an example).
The lyrics are genious. What can I say? Just buy the album, it's guarenteed to cheer you right up and keep you dancing, like, for ever!

This has got to be one of the best albums out right now, I absolutely love it. It's probably one of the only albums I have actually listened to the whole way through without skipping the odd track out 'cos its crap!
Very original, great, funky lyrics. Love it to bits!

Anyone who will of watched the great show for the 25th Anniversary for The Brit Awards will be aware of the success for the Scirror Sisters that night. They won all three awards in their catergory, aswell as singing a really good song at the beginning of the Awards Ceremony - this album proves to be exactly the same! The name of the band says it all, Scirror Sisters...
This album really is brilliant stuff and I love the singles that are: 'Laura', 'Take Your Mama', 'Comfortably Numb', 'Mary' & their newest and best effort yet, 'Filthy/Gorgeous'. I personally think that the first seven songs on the album are the best, but I love all of the songs! The full tracklisting is below.

My favourite on the album is Track seven, 'Filthy/Gorgeous' but the Scirror Hood feels good and I like all of the whole album! Ana Matronic, Jake Shears, Paddy Boom & BabyDaddy definately have a future! Keep up the good work, guys! They also have another song called 'Electrobix' which they wrote all by themselves and remixed versions of this song can be found on their great US album 'Remixed!'. As far as i'm concerned there's only one band I admire more than the Scirror Sisters and that's McFly - apart from those who brilliantly stand in the way, the Scirrors are the best!
Overall Score - 10/10.
Great band & Great album! They really deserve what they have.

If youve been an avid viewer of the brits 'in 2005 , no doubt you will already be aware of the success the scissor sisters enjoyed that night , but you may not be aware that the same level of success has eluded them in there home land of the u.s.a , proving that the american public are not as stupid as the british media would have us believe .
This band amount to at best , a novelty act who look as if theyve lost there way to the notting hill carnival and who's music is as challenging and stimulating as an episode of ' Dick and Dom's in da bungalow ' .
There musical trashing of 'pink floyd's comfortably numb' would have you believe they had invited the bee gee's into the studio
, forced them to breathe in balloons filled with helium whilst ingesting L.S.D and sing at the same time .
They score points for comic value , but musically evolve to very little ,and are bland enough to guarantee that there sound will spew from the bowls of daytime commercial radio up and down the country for months to come in the wake of there much undeserved media hype and the handbag dancers will continue to finance there record sales for the foreseeable future .
There may be big , but there not clever !
