Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - N*E*R*D
This album is a fantastic follow up to their 2002 album. I think this is superb and i recommend it. Pharrell is a very talented musician and still will go far

BUY IT!!!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Long Live N.E.R.D.
I must say this is the best album EVER. It is no disappointment for Pharrell/Neptune/NERD fans..this really shows the groups' talent at producing music of different cultures. Funk, rock, latin, hip-hop, soul and R&B are all flavoured into this album! Therefore it appeals to many. Fly Or Die is really worth the money so buy it or forever be kicking yourself from the sound of bad music!

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Good, but...
As arguably the most successful and certainly at present the most in-demand duo on the planet, listeners have come to expect nothing but pure gold from Pharrell Williams and Chad Hugo in either their production work (as The Neptunes) or when performing with long-time friend Shay on the other side of the mixing decks as N.E.R.D.

The second album to be released by N.E.R.D, 'Fly or Die', follows in the footsteps of the highly acclaimed and frankly sensational debut work that was 'In Search Of...' As a fan of the first album, I could hardly wait to get my hands on the second to see where Pharrell and co. were going to next. Unfortunately, as is so often the case, high expectations and building anticipation lead to subsequent deflation and disappointment.

That's not to say that 'Fly or Die' is a bad album. There are some fantastic songs here - lead single release 'She Wants to Move' is a funky, foot-tapping number you'll have running round your head for hours afterwards, 'Wonderful Place' is a classy number which surely deserves better than its place in a fairly uninspiring middle section of the album, whilst 'Maybe' stands out as a smooth ever-so-spaced-out-lovin' groove.

The problem is that some songs seem to drift into one another, and when they don't it almost ends up sounding like the band are trying just a little too hard to do something different from before. There's something that doesn't quite click, with tracks passing by without you ever working out quite what they were aiming at. Following on from Outkast's imaginative and inspired 'Speakerboxx/Love Below', N.E.R.D just seem slightly short of coherent ideas.

If you're hoping for more of the first album, you'll be disappointed. If you're hoping for more 'Neptunes/Clones', likewise. If you're looking for something laid-back, well-produced and smooth for summer or night-time listening, you won't go wrong with this. But don't expect a musical revelation this time round, though I'm certain we haven't seen the last of Pharrell and friends just yet.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Neither flying, or dying
N.e.r.d's second album comes at a crucial point in their career. As the title suggests in its metaphorical way, it is time for the hip-hop crossover group to either carry on their seemingly unstoppable take over, under their pseudonym of The Neptunes, of all things pop (at least as far as everyone from Britney Spears to Kelis are concerned), or for them to fade away into pop history. Quite literally, fly, or die. This album sees the band in true cross over form, with Pharrell's infamous falsetto vocals are backed up with funky guitars and laidback beats. Ultimately, despite everything, the trio ironically come out of this effort neither flying high nor laying down to die. Instead they merely tread the waters of the unexceptional. However, putting behind the hype and the expectations, this album is wholly enjoyable; its sleek summery vibe would be the perfect accompaniment to anybodies summer afternoons, and I defy anyone to not get at least one of the tracks stuck in their head.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Fly or Die - Which one will you choose?
Warning : This album is not an 'In Search Of...' part 2. Nor is it a typical Neptunes sounding album (which is kinda what I expected it to be like).
This album is so unique, it's hard to compare it to anything. The first time I listened to it I didn't really like it. But the more I listened to it, the more it grew on me and now I absolutely love it. So give it time!
If you like the released singles 'She Wants To Move' and 'Maybe', you will love the album as these aren't the best songs on it, in my opinion. It also has 3 hidden tracks on it - bonus!
