Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - I AM AN ENEMY OF GOD!!!!
Classic riff tastic Kreator fodder. There's some properly heavy stuff going on in this album, serious riffing, and by god Mille's voice even sounds great. Violent Revolution was a lovely little tempter, giving us the hope that Kreator were returning to Coma/Extreme days. Well here it is my heavy metal hamsters, back to the glory days.
There are some very melodic pieces in this album, but it just enhances the heaviness. Murder Fantasies is not one of my wife's favourite songs....we were lying in a hotel room in Amsterdam late at night, I was listening to this on my headphones, and all my wife could hear in the darkness was the constant mantra, "I want to kill you, I want to kill you, I want to kill you."
It took her a while to see the funny side of that one.
A must have for any metal fan, let alone any Kreator fan.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - ...completely shreds...
Ah, Kreator! One of the finest thrash bands to stalk the worlds stages. "Enemy Of God", their 11th studio album came out in 2005 and saw the band, once again, being hailed as the metal titans of yore.

Naturally, with a UK tour scheduled alongside Celtic Frost, it's been dusted down, tarted up and been rereleased as a CD / DVD hoohah. And rather splendid it is too. You are, of course, all familiar with the album (well, you are, aren't you?). But what is there to tempt you to part with your hard earned, over and above the original album.

Well, the meat in the sandwich is their entire Wacken 2005 set. Oh, yes. I still get a thrill when "Pleasure To Kill" kicks in, and the years just fall away. For some arty farty reason it's been filmed in green light but I'm delighted to say that Kreator still slay. "Flag Of Hate", in particular, completely shreds.

Heading off into the extras section you get 3 clips from the German Rockpalast TV show in 2005 - "Renewal", "Reconquering The Throne" and "Servant In Heaven - "King In Hell", with the latter the highlight. Can you imagine Jools Holland ever having them on. Thought not. There are also 4 video clips which you probably missed over on Kerrap! TV. Add in 2 bonus live tracks recorded in Korea - "Toxic Trace" and "Coma Of Souls", and the whole of the "Enemy Of God" album in summat called 5.1 DTS 96/24 mix. If I hadn't spent several decades with my head stuck in Motorheads bass bins, I'd probably ooze praise. But, regardless of my hearing defects, this is still a mighty impressive release.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Vorsprung Durch Techniq!!
Kreator have been around since 1985 & were probably recognised (along with Celtic Frost) as flag bearers for European Thrash when it exploded into mainstream life during the second half of the 80's. Thanks to a fabulously loyal home support in Germany they survived the (proverbial) extinction of thrash when it was eaten alive by Death Metal. As the 90's wore on they released some excellent (but largely overlooked) albums, but now seem to be at last gaining some sort of recognistion for their fantatstic lifelong acheivements. Make no mistake, Kreator are the best pure thrash band Europe has ever produced.
Enemy of God is touted as Kreator's best offering since "Coma of Souls" and is certainly on a par with anything they've released to date. They have always been heavily influenced by Slayer, but are far to talented to be derided as just clones. Slayer influences are apparent all over this record but the melodic apporach which appeared in "Violent Revolution" is even more prevalent here and gives "EOG" much more depth than one might expect. The production is crisp, concise and most important of all, pulsing with energy. Songs like "World Anarchy," "Voices of the Dead," "When Death Takes its Dominion" and the skull crushing title track are textbook examples of how thrash should be played: Brutal, down tuned riffs, precision drumming (courtesy of the superb Ventor), beautifully textured harmonies and guitar shreds galore!
Onca again, the hugely underrated Mille Petrozza has fronted an awsome Kreator album that is well worthy of the acclaim it is beginning to generate. Why not find out why and add it to your collection.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Excellent thrash metal album!!
This CD from German band Kreator is everything you'd expect from one of the best metal bands in the world. It is very heavy, but melodic too, the song writing is up to main-man Mille Petrozas' usual high standards, and picks up where the previous album Violent Revolution left off. I'd say this CD though has a bit more of an edge over the last one, and it just blows you away at times. My favourite songs, if I had to choose, are the title track 'Enemy of God', 'Impossible Brutallity' (which is similar to 'Violent Revolution' or the earlier 'People of the Lie' in that it's mid-paced and very catchy!), the slightly disturbing 'Murder Fantasies', and the catchy but powerful 'Under a Total Blackened Sky'. If you are a Kreator fan and like their other releases then this CD must join your collection! Even if you've never heard of Kreator, but love metal (true metal, not pseudo 'nu' metal garbage) then you'll love this album!
