Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - still fantastic after all these years
I thoroughly enjoyed this DVD. Even more so because I thought that the band whose vinyl recordings I had loved so much back in the 80's had ceased to perform, an impression caused due to the absence of their recordings in record shops and indeed on the radio. Imagine my overwhelming joy therefore in discovering this absolute gem on Amazon. The band have lost nothing of their original appeal for me and have even benefitted from their years of experience. Original band members, Bill Sharpe, George Anderson, Roger O'Dell and Jill Saward are every bit as brilliant as ever, augmented by equal skill and musicianship from the "new" members. As always, the atmosphere of a live show really comes across on this DVD. This is a DVD to be treasured as a performance by one of music's all-time great bands, and worthy of being played over and over again. Before the days of internet I would have been faced with an impossible task in trying to track down an item such as this, so thank you Amazon for making such music available once again to the music fans of this world who still have the ability to appreciate all that great music has to offer.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - At last! A 'Live' DVD worth the effort
Having viewed many DVD 'Live' concerts by various artists who I enjoy following, this concert was a refreshing change. The band did everything themselves, from compering to the 'thanks yous' at the end. The camera close-ups of the keyboards when being played by Bill only emphasise what a skilled musician he is; the same goes for Roger at the drums. I must make special mention here of George Anderson who, by virtue of the instrument he plays, tends to 'be forgotten' and also tends to spend what appears to be a lot of time 'in the background' (I have seen Shakatak 'Live'). George, along with guest guitarist Alan Wormald, were excellent (especially on the extended 'Night Birds' towards the end of the show. Check out the live version of 'You Are' (one of my favourites by this band in a long time, as it is very vocal, and gives one to chance to see - and hear - just how good Jill really is). Backing vocals from Jaqui Hicks were without fault. The DVD comes with an interview with Bill Sharpe and Jill Saward which was very entertaining - and informative - in itself. My one negative thing to say about this DVD is that - and this is my personal view - it maybe featured too much of the 'old stuff' and not enough of recent material . I know the fans like to hear the 'favourites' but more 'live' performances of more recent material would have been nice. All in all, though, the DVD is well worth obtaining, more so, as DVDs of this band seem to be few and far between, although I notice that some are available on overseas markets.

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Beware of this DVD !!!
I am very dissapointed with this DVD, the description doesn't state that this is a TV show recorded almost 20 years ago. There is no further description in the item in which I could guess what I have discovered only when I opened the package.
The description states "2004" but this is not the date of the show.
Iam dissapointed too because I have read the reviews before buying and none of them states this fact.
I am a fan of Shakatak and have all the records of the group, anyone of them is better than this DVD. So I recommend that before spending your money in this item, you better complete your collection of CD's.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Still going strong...
Shakatak typify all that was great about the '80s Britfunk vibe, and this live performance shows why the band is still one of the best live acts around. After so many years of recording and touring you'd expect the show to be tight, but this is a simply superb example of six consumate musicians and performers running like a finely tuned machine. The limited camera angles and average post production are a slight let down, but Shakatak are obviously having a great night. A must for any fan, and a must for anyone who enjoys honest and brilliantly executed jazz funk.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Shakatak are still the best
Having seen Shakatak in concert about 20 years ago, I have continued to follow them through the years. This DVD is brilliant. It is well filmed and you feel like you are there. Shakatak are such a friendly group. I loved the DVD. When 's the next one?
Well done to Bill Sharpe, Jill Saward and Roger O'Dell - I think you are great!!!
