Greatest Hits [VINYL]

The idea here is to present all of Elton John's Top 10 hits from his early period, circa 1970-1974, so there is no arguing that this greatest hits collection does indeed do that. But I still want to make the argument that this album does not include the best songs by Elton John and Bernie Taupin during this period. There are two songs from Elton John's self-titled "debut" album, "Your Song" and "Border Song," but nothing from "Tumbleweed Connection" or "Madman Across the Water" and I will certainly take "Love Song" and "Burn Down the Mission" from the former and "Tiny Dancer" and "Levon" from the latter and put those up against any two tracks on this collection (for me the best two are "Rocket Man" and "Saturday Night's Alright for Fighting"). ...
