Desitively Bonnarooby: Dr. John Release Date November 29, 1993 Following on from the Doctor's 1973 collaboration with new Orleans funk greats The Meters that spawned the phenomenal 'In The Right Place' this album appeared less than 12 months later and followed the same blueprint with the legendary Allen Toussaint again handling keys and production duties. It's hard to fault the decision to repeat the 'fonky' R'n'B brilliance of 'Right Place' and 'Desitively Bonnaroo' more than holds its' own making it the perfect companion piece. The sinuous funky rhythms of drummer Joseph Modeliste and bassist George Porter infuse everything with a deep groove that is totally infectious and Toussaint's tasteful keys perfectly blend with the good Doctor's jazzy piano.
