As the years go by, recordings of singers of the past become cheaper, less bulky to store, and reproduce in better sound. Nimbus Records have developed a method of reproducing recordings from the years before the introduction of electrical recording in 1925. The results are especially kind to singers who recorded in the early decades of the C20th.

This double CD presents recordings from the decade 1910 to 1920. The oldest singer represented is the great Australian diva Melba, heard in one of her loveliest recordings - an excerpt from "Louise" by Charpentier.
