Babylon the Great: An Introduction to Aphrodite's Childby: Aphrodite's Child Release Date May 13, 2002 An appalling album which merits it's one star rating purely for the inclusion of the four tracks from their masterpiece 666. AGEAN SEA, THE FOUR HORSEMEN, BREAK and LAMENT are all nascent prog classics - beautifully played and produced, exquisitely written. Sadly the rest of this bleak collection, blighted by poor sound and Demis Roussoss' wearying whinney of a voice show why the band were little known outside of mainland Europe. If you're only wxperience of the band is 666, avoid like the plague. Mightily disappointing. |
