. Chasing Pavementsby: Adele Release Date January 21, 2008 I really don't understand what the fuss is about with 'Chasing Pavements'. When there are female singers like Amy Winehouse, KT Tunstall, Shirley Manson and Dolores O'Riordan around we don't need a mediocre tune. We need something from them, and if not them, someone with a good strong and a voice with some personality. This is the thing. It's a pretty average song; perphaps if better singers made it their own, then it would be a different story. But her voice is (it's got to be said) boring. She isn't a musician, but someone who got lucky. I think that we should celebrate the talented musicians, rather than the choosen.
