Gary Cooper had enough problems batting right-handed let alone left-handed like Gehrig, so the actor wore a uniform with "KROY WEN" on the front, ran to third base when he managed to hit the ball, and then they reversed the print. Gehrig is shown wearing his famous number 4 when the Yankees play ... Read More:

SPEEDY is one of the most charming films of Lloyd! Although it might not be as tight as his other masterpieces( so it seems), those scenes on Coney Island are lovely all the same. For people just look for care-free laughs, they might find this film a little less hilarious than other Lloyd's works; but it's certainly more humane, more subtle, even personal. This is the last silent film Lloyd did, and it reflects some of the helpless feelings towrds progression and the nostalgia of the good old past, which is the essense that made this movie so wonderfully rich and graceful. That attempt of saving the last horse-drawn tram, and especially the help from the civil war veterans is Caprasque. Do not miss it!
