The Key [1984] [1985]

starring: Frank Finlay, Stefania Sandrelli, Franco Branciaroli, Barbara Cupisti, Armando Marra
directed by: Tinto Brass

Release Date October 22, 2001
In fact this is the only film of Tinto Brass that I have been able to obtain with English subtitles, leaving the original soundtrack intact. All the others I have seen were completely ruined, as usual, by the clumsy dubbing by the same old dubbing studio and the same old actors. They have also ruined hundreds of other films and TV series and should have been put out of business decades ago.

The well known English actor Frank Finlay in the main male part appears with his own voice.

Although there is, strictly speaking, really no single 'great erotic scene' in the film, there are a great many very well handled 'candid' erotic scenes generously distributed throughout the entire film and the cumulative effect is truly joyous. ... Read More:

Terror At The Opera [1988]

starring: Cristina Marsillach, Ian Charleson, Urbano Barberini, Daria Nicolodi, Coralina Cataldi-Tassoni
directed by: Dario Argento

Release Date March 24, 2003
Okay, this is not a horror based on the Phantom of the Opera but there are some likeness in it. A young diva replacing another to play the lead role, becomes famous and has a admier who becomes deadly mad about her. Only this time, he kidnaps her, puts horrfing nails under her eyes and lets her watch him do murder to all the people she knew alongside her. Sure, it's old and the dubbing is poor but there are some terrifying moments in it. The murders are gruesome while playing upbeat 80s songs, it didn't make a lot of sense and when you find out who's the bad guy, it is badly let down. The ending also is pretty poor too but it's something different every now and then.

Cemetery Man [1994] (REGION 1) (NTSC)

directed by: Michele Soavi

Release Date June 13, 2006
Iv just recently started to watch these wierd and wonderful Italian movies. The likes of Dario Argento, Mario Bava and Lucio Fulci. On the whole, although some of them are fantastic, they are very hard to watch. You watch them once, feel enriched for the experience, and then never watch them again. This movie is different. Dont get me wrong, it is by no means an easy ride, but it keeps you watching and trying your best to fathom out whats going on from start to finish. Glued to it I was. Adapted from an Italian graphic novel, DELLAMORTE DELLAMORE, is a dark horror fanatasy, its story twisting and turning through many different macabre situations. Leading its main protagonist Francesco Dellamorte, the caretaker of Buffalora Cemetary, on a journey of surreal experiences ... Read More:

11 Days 11 Nights - Part 1 - Fantasy Becomes Reality

starring: Jessica Moore, Joshua McDonald, Mary Sellers, Tom Mojack, David Brandon
directed by: Joe D'Amato

Release Date April 25, 2005
This film is chronically bad with wooden actors who should have left acting alone ... so Madonna would be ideal in the staring role.

What makes this film stand out is the fact that every time Sarah says "Michael" all I could visualise was Kenny Everett playing Cupid Stunts!

In fact, if Sir Kenny was still alive, this film would be quite good remade with Cupid Stunts playing Sarah.

The Church [1989]

starring: Hugh Quarshie, Tomas Arana, Feodor Chaliapin Jr., Barbara Cupisti, Antonella Vitale
directed by: Michele Soavi

Release Date October 30, 2007
Well, I hardly know where to start. Wooden acting, the flimsiest story line, dull as dishwater. The 'ogre' looked like something out of a 1950's horror movie. It took absolutely ages for the film to get down to a confrontation with the ogre which lasted a whole 20 seconds, that was followed by a hugely impressive ending - the best effect they could manage was a simple fade (it just vanished slowly) to show it had been killed. The most frightening part of this was the fact that some nut decided it warranted an 18 certificate. If you're looking for a way to throw away some money, this fits the bill. Otherwise, I wouldn't touch this load of tripe with a 20 foot barge pole.
