Barbie As The Princess And The Pauper

My six year old daughter (and her twin brother) love this delightfully told little film, which in many ways is the most original of the Barbie children's videos: and of those which have original soundtracks rather than music taken from the classics, it has by far the best music.

Before we first rented one of the Barbie videos for my daughter, I was expecting them to be trite, over-commercialised, over-sugary and over here. However, I have been pleasantly surprised.

Yes, they do have a lot of commercial spin-offs and a high saccarine count, but the quality of the Barbie films we have subsequently bought or rented, including "The Princess and the Pauper," was significantly higher than I had previously expected. ... Read More:

Barbie - The Magic Of Pegasus

We gave our 4 1/2 yr-old daughter this new Barbie DVD for xmas. It's absolutely lovely and the whole family were equally hooked when we sat down to watch it! Our daughter has all the Barbie movies on DVD, and still agrees that "Princess & The Pauper" is the best, but "The Magic of Pegasus" comes a very close 2nd and would be joint-1st if it included songs.

The only drawback is the 3D version of the movie (the movie comes in 2 versions, 'normal' and '3D'). 4 pairs of 3D glasses are included with the DVD, but they don't seem to work very well. Barbie Princess Collection

My two young daughters really love all the Barbie movies - including the four in this collection. Even my wife and I enjoyed sitting through the films (up till around the 100th time). Princess and Pauper is the latest film out of the four, and the animation is the best amongst the four. As for actual story telling, I rate these as good as any classic Disney filmes. On the animation front, it's catching up fast too.

Other than the four films in this collection, my kids almost love the more recent FairyTopia, and the even newer Mermaidia.

Barbie - Fairytopia

Further to my review of the Princess collection (Barbie) again I love it, its original (no baiss on fiary tales) and I eagerly look forward to the next one in the series.

This story has the moral that anyone can make difference no matter how different you are; the good are rewarded and the bad are punished.

Animation is excellent but I didn't like the puffball- he's annoying.
