The cover promises to be outrageous, funny and hip, but I failed to see any of those throughout the whole film. The subtitles might keep you from falling asleep, but do not add anything to the film. It seems to meander through ill-conceived plots that have no over-riding momentum. Most of the time watching the film was spent trying to work out why I was watching the film. I would advise that your money is better spent on something with a plot.

I wanted to like this movie. I also wanted to like Daniel Burman's other films, but so far have been unable. Whilst Lost Embrace attempted to provide an insight into the ordinary lives of members of the Jewish community in Once, this movie wavered between the annoyingly absurd and darn right cheesy (think of Santamaria lifting the baby out of the bin?). The story in itself had the potential to be both insightful and interesting. An interesting ethnic group in an interesting city, the conflicting emotional feelings the protagonist has for his Jewish girlfriend and feisty christian co-worker.
