Some people consider "Bug's Life" as not being on the same level of quality as other Pixar productions, but I really can not agree with them. My daughter clearly wouldn't agree either. This is a very funny movie, with a lot of interesting innovations (we will never look at bugs in the same way, me and my family) and a kind of surprising kindness - even the bad guys are shown with some understanding (having chosen the life of parasite racketeers, they are now trapped by it - as much as their ant victims). The principal hero is possibly one of the most likeable characters I ever saw. A little warning - there is one scene at the end, of the final demise of the leader of grasshoppers, that can impress the littlest children (under 6) - otherwise this ... Read More:

As you can tell from the other people's reviews this movie is brilliant!! But what is not said (at least I don't think so! I didd'nt read all 100+ reviews!) is the picture quality! i'm using a Toshiba 47" 1080i LCD HDTV with a PlayStation3 with HDMI connection.
For a DVD it's got AMAZING detail! I'm surprised they managed to fit this 3 hour film with this quality onto a DVD!! I have a collection of around 500 DVDs & this must be in the top 5 of best picture quality in my selection!
Buy it! you won't regret it! (or wait for the Blu-ray)

Robin Williams (Good Will Hunting, Mrs Doubtfire) stars as Alan Parish, a man who comes back from being trapped inside a board game, to find his home town in ruins, and the only way to bring it back, is if he finishes the game.
This is a great fantasy adventure from director Joe Johnston who combines stunning and exciting visual effects with a gripping and mysterious plot.
The imagination about the board game makes the film amazing with various typical jungle elements encoded to anchor the plot and combine excitement and suspense to the narrative and characters.
Robin Williams is fantastic as Alan Parish, an uncomfortable soul who has had a difficult childhood, one which audiences can sympathize with.

Take away Hoffman, and the often underrated Cruise, and you have a fairly mediocre, long winded and somewhat boring story. To some degree, this is because the film is a bit too pre-occupied with showcasing some of the inadvertent talents of an autistic person. But then again, somehow I feel that would have been fine, had the screen-writers ditched the backdrop of a film (Cruise in financial trouble and needs the inheritance money). Worse still, the backdrop made the final 30 minutes extremely predictable (money isn't everything... blood is thicker than water... blah blah blah).

This is one of Kevin Klines funniest roles playing the ordinary Joe Dave Kovic who has the appearance that resembles the president. When Dave takes on the role of the president and and has to take on the life that the president left behind for him like the first lady played by Sigourney Weaver who hated him. Dave needs to take on his relationship with the first lady, his advisor's played by Frank Langella and Kevin Dunn (the only people who know who Dave really is) ,and the country. Memorable Kline film in a brilliant double role.

A humorous film that is enjoyable throughout its duration with interesting characters and a lovely location by a beautiful lake.
The children of two families compete against one another for the sake of their dads who dislike each other a lot.Eugene Levy and Steve Martin are well-suited to their roles as the bickering dads and the very large supporting cast have enough time on screen and enough to say and do to make their roles have an impact. If you want something that's innoffensive to adults and children and packed with wit then this is a film for you.
