Out of all the of the christmas films that I have seen over the years, this is the one that stands head and shoulders above the rest! Ok, the acting of the little lad that plays Joe leaves something to be desired, but if you put this aside and just watch the film for shear enjoyment and getting in that festive mood, then you too will get wrapped up in that magic tingly feelling that this film evokes.
I remember watching this film as a little girl and I still get the same feeling it gave when I was about 10. I have now bought it for my 2 year old and he justs loves it - its a fantastic way to introduce children to the magic of Santa, elves, reindeer and the magic of christmas if you just believe. Go on - give it a go - you will not be ... Read More:

I just finished watching the Rocky cycle, all 6! I must say it was excellent watching the whole series. I remember being disappointed by number five especially but it was better than I remembered, especially knowing how it was "top and tailed" by number 6. If you are a woman or male-child (physically or mentally) you may just want to watch I and VI but definitely watch VI again with the commentary by Sylvester Stallone so you can get the depth behind this life lesson.

There is very little I can add to the many favourable reviews this classic Dynamic Duo adventure has already received here on Amazon. This is the Batman I remember from my early teens, and will always be the real thing as far as I'm concerned!
Unless I have missed it, none of the other reviewers have mentioned the sad fact that when it comes to Adam West and Burt Ward this film is pretty much it! No sign of any of the 120 TV episodes on DVD is to be found here, or even in the U.S., nor any mention of why that might be.
The simple explanation seems to be the fact that Warner Brothers own the rights to the Batman characters whilst Fox own the actual programmes themselves! Various websites give a more detailed explanation, ... Read More:

This was to be the last film that Ray Harryhausen provided his wonderful creations for. In that respect this film also marks an end of an era, those marvellous films that I watched as a child, with fabulous monsters and legends fuelling my imagination.
This film is no Jason and the Argonauts though. In between the wonderful monster scnes, the film does drag, not helped by a bland performance by Harry Hamlin as Perseus, and the scenes with the Gods arguing with eachother can be a bit tiresome.
Fortunately, we also get Pegasus, the winged horse and a wonderful Medusa to compensate, and Neil Mccarthy is excellent as the tragic villian Calibos. The scenes where the Kraken destroys the city of Argos are spectacular, and the film is full of wit and imagination. ... Read More:

Many a time the words film star and actress can be mistakenly joined together and unnecessarily so, however this is not the case for Lana Turner who masters both with great skill. Madame X is her tour de force and totally underrated as a film. The story is simply based on how the love of children can be given so differently by two mothers. Ones love is only based on love that is totally unconditional and unselfish, withdrawing from both her sons life and that of her husband, the only man she has or will ever love to avoid scandal. The other mothers love is only based on power and position at any cost. Lana Turners performance is brilliant going from loving bride and mother to a woman so down on her luck that when confronted with the chance that her son may discover what ... Read More:

THIS IS JUST AMAZING. Rocky is such a legend and sylvester stallone plays Rocky so superbly. The first film is the best because thats just life changing, but rocky 2 has the best scene where he is climbing the philadelphia museum steps with thousands of people behind him, Rocky 3 is a great film, Rocky 4 is a bit better than rocky 3 and rocky 5 is another hit. If you want your slice of rocky then go buy this because its in a different class to other films. Sit back grab the popcorn and watch rocky, its life-changing.

I'm not a fan of boxing, so I put off watching this film for a long time as I was under the false impression that that was all that Rocky was about - boxing. How very wrong I was. Although boxing is one of the main storylines in the movie, it is definately not the only one, with many other story arcs, themes, and ideas that were better suited to my interests.
Sylvester Stallone gives an incredible, unforgettable performance as Rocky Balboa, a small time boxer who is given the chance to fight the heavy weight champion. The character is warm, likeable, funny, and Stallone really brings Rocky alive. Talia Shire likewise does a fantastic job as Adrian (Rocky's incredibly shy girlfriend), infact, I can't think of a single bad performance in the entire film.

Consider the idea: Make a ganster movie with brillinat actors such as Ed harris, Gary Oldman, Sean Penn, John Tutorro etc, music by Ennio Morricone, cinematography by J. Croenweth (Blade Runner) and you have a classic gangster movie.
NO, because at its heart, State of Grace isn't really a new kind of film in the small-time gangster genre, but it is an example of one that follows the formula with mediocre precision. This movie is about loyalty, and how money and power can sometimes break the most powerful bonds of all -- family. State of Grace fits this model to a tee, but with strong performances and gorgeous cinematography (Jordan Cronenweth, Blade Runner), this is a slow and not so finely-tuned drama that failed to plese me on any level.

This brilliant movie from Richard Attenborough is a dark, gripping journey into a shy ventriloquist's mind. The prospect of fame is too much for Corky Withers. He just isn't ready for it... Taking to the backwoods with his dummy, Fats, Corky rekindles a relationship with a lost love - Ann Margaret. However, Fats is having none of it and a trail of bodies follows...
