Got it for my sister, not much of a story to it and was more than a little surprised when the credits started rolling so soon (27 minutes?). You'd have to be a massive Shrek fan for this to be worth the buy. In short, it's not worth getting.

This is a very heavy-handed narrative, in which a pair of New Yorkers: slobby unemployed Jack (Kutcher) meets prissy, aspirational, control-freak Joy (Diaz) under unusual circumstances when they both find themselves emotionally bruised and 'recovering' in Vegas. An evening of 'bonding' over heavy drinking finds the two making use of one of the city's famous wedding chapels - and, Britney Spears-style, living to regret it. But during the morning after the night before, things are complicated by a $3 million fruit machine win... to which both parties feel they have a claim.
The unlikely couple seek to divorce: but are forced into cohabitation by the improbable ruling of a quirky judge... who sentences them to 6 months "hard marriage" ... Read More:

I cannot recomend this film enough! It's funny, its romanitc and an all round great film. The sound track has something that makes you want to play it all over again. Jude Law, Jack Black and Kate Winslet all gave brilliant performances, Cameron's however, lacked the certain pizaz that she ususally has. But over all, one cracking Christmas film!

I personally love the shrek films and was excited to hear there was a third one coming out. Although when i first watched it i got bored quickly and lost interest but after watching it again i seem to like it more and more. It has plenty of humour and you may not like a character but sometimes you have to look past that. For those who are dragging it through the mud...give it a second chance

I am sick and tired of all this green faced evil that pollutes so much of our films and TV. All the evil implications of having a green face are evident in this film, and the subtleties of the evil that the mask makes people do is overt and a little disturbing to say the least.
If anyone out there has studied the history and meaning of green faces they will understand this film's evil intentions and undertones. I cannot look too long at the cover of this DVD because of evil greeness and I bookmark and skip the bits when Jim 'can't act' Carrey has the mask on. It would be a good film if he and the green face elements were left out but as it stands this film is evil and it knows it.
Please do not let evil green faces into your life, ... Read More:

Before you watch this movie (and then dismiss it, as others have done, as incomprehensible and bizarre) you MUST either read or listen to the book or audio book.
Having done both, I can happily report that Terry Gilliam has done a first class job (with Hunter S Thompson's blessing) of creating this overlooked masterpiece. The lead roles of Duke (Johnny Depp) and Dr. Gonzo (Benicio del Toro) are expertly and accurately portrayed, much as I imagined they would be when reading the book.
Furthermore, the support characters and Vegas ambience adds to the mix.
In short, read the book, then watch the movie ...... and don't stop in bat country.

Honestly, I cannot figure out this movie. There is undoubtedly the will to tell about some aspects of N.Y. history, but this is no historical movie. It is neither an action movie (despite the abundant blood and violence), nor a romance.
Characters are played a bit too cartoon-type, the script is not really stricking.
With all respect for Martin Scorsece and the effort placed to make this movie(reason for which I rate it 2 stars and not 1 star), if one has to wash the car, one better spend his time that way.

Great movie.
I occasionally watch the Pacino pep talk ("Life is a game of inches") when i need motivation.
Dr Gonzo Clarke.
8/10.

I saw this film once, it was quite amusing and reasonably well written, and cameron shines up nicely. However, I have no great desire to see it again, which I suppose is damning it with faint praise- however, it is a good girls night in film, so I'm a bit biased I guess.

I was hugely looking forward to watching these two so finally got them using the Amazon Rental thingy. People had been going on about how they weren't just for kids and what great films they were. Well, I'm sorry, but I just don't get it. They were both pretty dull. Thin plots, poor songs and musical numbers (apart from the last number in Shrek 2), annoying characters (in a more realistic film someone would have shot the Donkey ten minutes in).
Maybe I'm just an old grouch, but I fell asleep twice during the second one and the first wasn't much better.
