I have to start by saying that I enjoyed this film way more than I expected to. Not being a fan of Westerns or Russell Crowe, I wasn't expecting great things, but this film surprised me by keeping my entertained and completely 'in' the film the whole way through. The scenery and direction is superb, the acting is mainly good, the story, although implausible at times, was fun and interesting enough to keep me watching and the overall package makes for two hours of film viewing that is not too heavy and with plenty of fights and action sequences to boot. The actor who plays 'Charlie' is especially good and Crowe even managed to endear himself to me this time. For fans of the genre you may either love this or be disappointed depending on your ... This is a fantastic nostalgic film about a group of unruly teenagers and their suffering teacher( Sidney Poitier) in the 60's.An inspirational film which works just as well now. Look out for Patricia Routledge(keeping up appearances) in a small teaching role.Judy Geeson is brilliant playing the young lady with the crush on her teacher, and Lulu's film debut singing the main song,To Sir With Love is just plain superb,if you like musicals with a good story you will love this one.Suitable for all the family, I cant praise this one enough. To Sir With Love [1967]

A lovely film. Typical in today's world, the first time I heard of it it was on a saturday aft TV. Films like this should have a higher profile in today's cinemas, family oriented, some mild comic violence but nothing graphic. Good cast and story too, excellent.

The film is a 100% cowboy, proper good-old Western.
Thumbs up and great acting.
One comment that i have posted before for other films, Why doesnt Amazon provide with a subtitle list in order for non-uk europeans to be able to buy the films from here???
Any reviewer can add if there are Greek subtitles?

this film is a decent effort from the 60's,it certainly ain't a classic but it is however entertaining and is well worth watching on a rainy afternoon.it portrays the story from both sides there is plenty of action and you are left thinking {like all war films should be}what a waste of lives.this film certainly belongs in your war collection its enjoyable but no classic.

Sometimes a bit of hard, dark and amusing period-drama is just what the doctor ordered, taking a break from BBC endless remakes of nicety-nice Jane Austin and Charles Dickens books that we all pay our licence fees for !!!
High-way man Plunkett (Carlyle) teams up with ex-socialite Macleane (Miller) to rob the London gentry of their wears, along the way becoming infamous and inciting the wrath of the local authorities.
I felt that the film was just the right mix of drama and comedy, with serious events separated by moments of shear comic genius. Macleane encouraging Plunkett to eat more prunes and trying to catch a large ruby as it worked its way through his system, along with trying to cure a dose of the clap caught in the line ... Incredible animation and attention to detail make you really believe the illusion of life in the creature. A great family film to enjoy again and again.

Despite the title, the cavemen merely play a supporting role to Robert Winston and his moustache. This series departs from the usual 'Walikng with...' format by having an on-screen presenter. This would be tolerable if it wasn't for the fact that the production team have introduced the absurd conceit that Robert Winston is actually travelling back in time, courtesy of a customised Land Rover. With a turn of the ignition key, Winston's watch spins rapidly, clouds rush across the sky and mountains rise and fall, rather like 'The Time Machine' meets 'Back to the Future'.
The four episodes feature Winston first in a safari jacket climbing up a tree to get a better view of the apemen, then in a dune buggy chasing a nomadic tribe, this is followed by a sequence ... Read More:

Al pacinos career was still in its infancy when he made this,i believe this was his ninth film, dont quote me on that, the year was 1979 and the director was the very capable norman jewison. The film looks at whats wrong with the legal system and for the most part has a very serious, dark view on it,some laughs are oddly thrown in which upsets the balance slightly, some work and some seem quite slapstick when positioned among the turmoils and chaos and the moral message which is there for all to see.
The film details a lawyer called arthur kirkland played by pacino who wants to be the best lawyer he can be and buys into the idea that everyone deserves a fair trial no matter what, when he is asked to defend a judge who he hates and suspects may be guilty then he has some tough decisions ... Swing Kids isn't as bad as its reputation implies by a long shot, but it's too riddled with compromise to really work. The Nazis' vicious repression of jazz and swing music is a great story crying out to be told, but Disney really wasn't the studio to tell it. Hints of a better film abound and it does edge into some dark corners, but the need for an upbeat ending to a downbeat story does the film few favors, and nor does the fact that the period jive and dancing tend to sound and look very silly indeed far too often - certainly Robert Sean Leonard's angst-ridden solo dance of rebellion at the end is an unintentional comic highlight.
No extras but a decent 1.85:1 widescreen transfer.
