I love the way the episodes of Northern Exposure mix the supernatural with the natural and how unpredictable they are.But what I like most about this humorous and moving series is how the people in this part of Alaska seem so free and live out their fantasies.If only we all could do the same!

Despite this being the fifth series of NX, there are no signs of contempt or staleness creeping in. This marvellous series continues to charm us with excellent and unusual plotlines, brilliant acting and breathtaking scenery. If you're a fan, then you'll already know this, if you aren't, I suggest that you shell out a tenner for series one, then collect them all in sequence.

I for one can't wait to add series six to my collection as well. This is the only show I've gone to such lengths to watch again so many years after it was originally aired. It hasn't dated a single bit, I'm elated that they've all been released to DVD.

It was a bad surprise to find out that this collection of DVDs
comes completely without subtitles.
I own season 1 (german edition) and season 2 (UK) which both come
with english audio and english subtitles.

Now I checked DVD infos here and it looks like they generally dropped subtitles
from season 3 onwards on all UK editions of Northern Exposure.

So that is the reason this collection doesn't have any at all.

Publishing DVDs without subtitles is a bad idea and dropping them
half way through is even worse!
