I cannot believe that this film was actually made and people paid money to see it. This is my alltime worst film and the only reason I haven't reviewed it until now was because I was trying to sell a copy I had. A copy that I was duped into buying because it said "funniest comedy of the year" on the back. I can only assume it was talking about the year of the great depression!
The only reason I have given this one star is because it is impossible not to. If you have not already seen this film, count yourself as blessed.

I just watched this movie on Film4 on the TV and it was brilliant! so fantastic I just came straight on to Amazon to buy the DVD. Funny (hilariously so in places) heart-warming and the acting is superb. Cathy Bates shines and the gorgeous Rupert Everett is as gorgeous as ever!
BUY IT!

Chopper [2000]

This is a well-made biopic of Mark 'Chopper' Read, an extremely violent Australian criminal who has gone on to become a successful writer. The story, although based on 'Choppers' own books has been spiced up for the film, so some of the events depicted may never have happened. That said its an adrenalin filled film which never lets up in its intensity, which is mostly down to a superb performance by Eric Bana. His portrayal captures the schzoid nature of 'Chopper' who after shooting you, was just as likely to take you to a hospital.

With its relentless nature and short running time of only 90 minutes you'll find that the film is over very quickly. I felt the film could have continued a little longer (very unusual for me) so for me the ending ... Read More:

I'm giving this film five stars because it simply is superb from the beginning to the end with a good story despite what some people might say. I don't think the director really wanted the audience to relate to a bunch of racist skinheads so why people complain about that I do not know, I think he just wanted the audience to sit back and enjoy a low budget masterpiece. The acting is very good and the music is top notch ( even though I'm not racist I just thought it went very well with the film) I do feel this film is as good as American History X and if you are not sure about buying Romper Stomper well I shall solve your dilema by saying buy it! you will be pleasantly surprised I assure you with enough thrills to keep you happy.
