A parody of Star Wars, and Aliens, and some other films of the type (space science fiction) is of course welcome because we like taking things un-seriously, non-seriously, serious-ness-less-ly. So it is funny and that is not a surprise. Mel Brooks knows how to make things both funny and silly so that we can gargle with giggles and barf with laughter. But the film has the main defect all Mel Brooks's films have. The humor is essentially punctual, so we have one joke after another, one smile after another, one pleasant moment after another, but there is no structural derision of the models. The final birth of an alien is funny both because of the situation in which it happens and it surprises us then, and because the alien is turned into some ... Read More:

The worst film I have ever seen. This has put me off Mel Brooks for life.
'Words that sound like other words' just isn't the kind of comedy that appeals to me and, at the risk of sounding like a pretentious elitist, it shouldn't appeal to you either.
I hope you heed my warning. I had to sit through it all with my family, and I now suffer from severe depression with desperate nihilism.
Go Farce yourself, Mel.

A slow Season, but a very well written one. All soaps start slow so this is no exception. Lots of familiar faces for soap fans in this one. The always lovely Deborah Adair has a reccuring role as Lucy, fans of The Young And The Restless may remember her as Jill Abbott in the 1980's, while Days Of Our Lives fans will remember her as the original Kate Roberts and (my this woman was busy)Dynasty viewers may remember her as Tracy kendall. Falcon Crest fans need not feel left out, they will enjoy seeing William Moses pop up.
There are plenty of good stories to start this show that most can relate to, it is a mature well balanced Season.

A saga of a group of medical students surviving their first year of medical school... very funny and realistic. Shows portray of typical medical students, ones wearing a tie every day and proclaiming their desire to be a surgeon to every doctor they meet. How stress is shared among medical students. But most are like the rest of the cast... real people surviving a surreal situation... medical school! The story is basically based on life of medical students. A great movie for potential medical students to watch.

Matthew Modine stars in this drama of a 1970s US high school wrestler as he gets to grips with family problems, girls and the meaning of life. It's probably most famous nowadays for an early appearance by Madonna as a nightclub singer, though she's only on screen for a few minutes.
I enjoyed this film, mainly because I love the book, by Tom Davis, on which it's based. However, it's probably not something you would want to watch more than once unless you're a Modine fan.
