Brilliant,Brilliant, Brilliant!!!
If you like the Chroinicles of Narnia feel - but with more fantasy, goblins etc - you will love this. A must see for everyone - one to keep.
Release Date November 10, 2003
Allegorical story or absurdist fantasy? Whichever this is, its a high class piece of filmmaking from director Volker Schlondorff. David Bennett who plays the drum beating young Oskar holds the film together. His is a marvellous performance. Its no surprise to find that unlike a lot of child 'stars' he is still working in films and television today. Release Date August 02, 2004
This film epitomised the sense of menace and paranoia which must have preceded the Nazi regime. The way Bergman portrayed the central character, Abel Rosenberg, was unexpected. Initially, he was a sympathetic figure - a Jew who was detached from the corruption around him. However, there was a sickening scene in which he attacked overtly Jewish people. There was also a horrific scene in which the starving inhabitants appeared to eat meat from a horse which was still alive.

Am writing this as totally disagreed with the review I read here on Ladyhawke - get a grip, not to mention a sense of romance and imagination, this film is beautiful, sad and funny, ok slightly cheesey at the end but hey it's still fab. As for Willow and Legend, timeless, superb, lose yourself in films and not just for kids either - all 3 just marvellous time after time you can come back to these and feel just as good.
