The Godfather Trilogy : Remastered Collection - Limited Edition Steelbook Metal Packaging (Exclusive To Amazon.co.uk) [1971]

starring: Al Pacino, Robert De Niro, Marlon Brando, Robert Duvall, Diane Keaton
directed by: Francis Ford Coppola

Release Date June 02, 2008
I was not even born when the first installment of Godfather came out in the theatres. But I always heard about it from all my elder family members, who had the chance to see the movie in the seventies. They always admired about it and its sequel that went into theaters in 1974. This June, when the Godfather trilogy box set came out, all the stories which I used to hear from other people came across my mind, and I immediately bought the Godfather trilogy box set, containing all three movies and two bonus discs covering the special features.
When I started watching the trilogy from part 1, it gripped me right from the beginning till the end. Director, Francis Ford Coppola dealt so many characters, beautifully, without hampering the pace ... Read More:

Something's Gotta Give [2004]

starring: Jack Nicholson, Diane Keaton, Keanu Reeves, Frances McDormand, Amanda Peet
directed by: Nancy Meyers

Release Date June 14, 2004
Aside from this not being very funny or even mildly interesting the film is a prime example of how certain people - probably members of the male sex, would still like to believe than an old, fat, ugly man can be a 'babe magnet' purely because he has a bid wad (of cash).

At the begining a wheezing, viagra popping Nicholson dates a beautiful girl at least 35 years younger than himself, not because he is interested in a serious relationship, can offer her love, support and affection on an equal footing to her, or, is even vaguely kind in any way but just as a bit of fun in the bedroom. It is so disgusting it doesnt even bear thinking about. Mother Diane Keaton is fashionably cool about finding this balding, sweaty tub of lard waddling ... Read More:

Family Stone, The [2005]

starring: Sarah Jessica Parker, Paul Schneider, Claire Danes, Diane Keaton, Rachel McAdams
directed by: Bezucha Thomas

Release Date April 17, 2006

What happens when the son brings home for X-mas a girl he wants to marry and the family thinks her utterly unsuitable for him and the family? Well this movie answers your question.

Legendary and Oscar winning Diane Keaton as Sybil Stone is the outspoken matriarch, wo survived a bout of breast cancer and has recently fallen ill again, keeps the family together and presides over it.

Sarah Jessica Parker as Meredith Morton is the stiff businesswoman and control-freak girlfriend with a throat-clearing tick who annoys the members of the Stone family. Sarah Jessica Parker may have risen to stardom as one Carrie Bradshaw in the award-winning Sex and the City, but the actress proves her versatility as an unsympathetic character ... Read More:

directed by: Charles Shyer

Release Date September 26, 2005
A GREAT FAMILY FILM.STEVE MARTIN IS GREAT AS THE FATHER OF THE BRIDE,AS IS MARTIN SHORT AS 'FRANK' THE WEDDING PLANNER.THE FIRST DVD IS OF COURSE ABOUT THE WEDDING AND EVENTS LEADING UP TO IT.THE SECOND DVD HAS THE SAME CAST AND HAS' FRANK' ORGANISING THE BABY SHOWER ETC.EVENTS BECOME EVEN MORE AMUSING WHEN DIANE KEATON THINKS SHE IS MENOPAUSAL BUT IS IN FACT ALSO EXPECTING A BABY.STEVE MARTIN HAS TO COPE WITH THESE TWO MOST IMPORTANT WOMEN IN HIS LIFE.
I THINK THIS SECOND FILM IS FUNNIER THAN THE FIRST ,WHICH IS QUITE UNUSUAL FOR A FOLLOW UP FILM.MY CHILDREN WERE 9 AND ELEVEN IN 1996 WHEN I FIRST TOOK THEM TO THE CINEMA TO WATCH FATHER OF THE BRIDE 1 AND WE STILL LAUGH AT BOTH THE FILMS .GREAT FAMILY ENTERTAINMENT

Annie Hall [1977]

starring: Woody Allen, Diane Keaton, Tony Roberts, Carol Kane, Paul Simon
directed by: Woody Allen

Release Date July 10, 2000
Interesting film. Complex, if slightly annoying characters who tend to either argue, produce witty anecdotes or whine about how the sex in their relationship is non exsistant. Woody Allen gets on my nerves but I knew this was a film I had to watch as I slowly worked my way through the latest 'hundred greatest films' list, put together no doubt by a group of people who all know each other. I'm not sure why this is on the list but there are some comic moments and yes, although aggrivating, Woody Allen is strangly loveable by the end of the film, although his attitude to women is weirdly uncomfortable and stifling to watch, moving from break up to break up to marriage proposals within an hour and a half. One to watch, but I'm sure his genius is more widely enjoyed in other ... Read More:

I was a little worried as i'm a blackandwhitefilmophobe but, this fim is marvelous.

Compared to films like Serpico, Taxi Driver, The Warriors that show New York on the 1970's as a cess pit this shows 70's New York through Woody Allen's eyes and what a place it is.
