I was not even born when the first installment of Godfather came out in the theatres. But I always heard about it from all my elder family members, who had the chance to see the movie in the seventies. They always admired about it and its sequel that went into theaters in 1974. This June, when the Godfather trilogy box set came out, all the stories which I used to hear from other people came across my mind, and I immediately bought the Godfather trilogy box set, containing all three movies and two bonus discs covering the special features.

Aside from this not being very funny or even mildly interesting the film is a prime example of how certain people - probably members of the male sex, would still like to believe than an old, fat, ugly man can be a 'babe magnet' purely because he has a bid wad (of cash).

At the begining a wheezing, viagra popping Nicholson dates a beautiful girl at least 35 years younger than himself, not because he is interested in a serious relationship, can offer her love, support and affection on an equal footing to her, or, is even vaguely kind in any way but just as a bit of fun in the bedroom. Interesting film. Complex, if slightly annoying characters who tend to either argue, produce witty anecdotes or whine about how the sex in their relationship is non exsistant. Woody Allen gets on my nerves but I knew this was a film I had to watch as I slowly worked my way through the latest 'hundred greatest films' list, put together no doubt by a group of people who all know each other. I'm not sure why this is on the list but there are some comic moments and yes, although aggrivating, Woody Allen is strangly loveable by the end of the film, although his attitude to women is weirdly uncomfortable and stifling to watch, moving from break up to break up to marriage proposals within an hour and a half.
