I watched this movie as a kid and thought it was very frightening. Re-watching it 30 years later was really interesting. The movie takes place in a totalitarian future where humanity is living underground. I like how everything is not explained in detail (which year is it, why are everyone underground, are there other countries and so on???). I was a bit worried about Lucas new cgi "improvement", but it is wasn't disturbing at all (most noticeable in some cityscapes and the car chase). This movie has certainly aged well, and with all the extras and a price of about 7 GBP, it is really recommended.

Black Caesar (1973) is one heck of a good movie. I hate the term blaxploitation that is used to describe movies of this genre because it implies that these sorts of films are somehow second-class entries in the world of cinema. Black Caesar is a first-class ride from start to finish, taking as much from classic gangster films of the 1930s and 1940s as it does from earlier blaxploitation films such as Shaft. Larry Cohen gave us a tough, mean, dirty, gritty film that tells it and shows it like it is: plenty of cursing, gunplay, blood, profanity, nudity, and racism. I have heard that the starring role was originally written for Sammy Davis, Jr. Nobody loved Sammy more than I do, but there's just no way he could have done the things that Tommy Gibbs does effectively. ... This movie was made during the Blackploitation period in the 70's. Its a good voodoo tale of revenge by the the very Beautiful Marki Bey(could give Pam Grier a run for her money in the fine as hell department). Sugar losses the love her her life Langston over his very lucrative night club to a local white gangster. She uses her voodoo roots to get kill each man one by one to get revenge for Langston. The thing that makes this movie unique then and now is the zombie make up, it was totally different from the standard Romero. This movie is worth a look!
