Myself, my husband, my son's who are 12yrs, 9yrs, 5yrs, 3yrs and my 1yr old daughter all watched this on holiday in Scarborough. We loved it. Po is the most adorable character and I'm definately gonna buy it on DVD.

This is simply the best Blu Ray I have ever seen! Better that Wall E in terms of the scintillating images, colour, and detail! If you have anything like a decent Hi Def set up, this is a must demo and 'show off' disc. The film is good too, and extrtemely enjoyable, funny, full of action, and engaging! You can't go wrong with this movie, especially if you have kids! These animated blockbusters really do get better all of the time, Cars, Ratatouille, Happy Feet, Wall E, Shrek etc. and this is surely the best looking one yet! Ok, I am an adult, and we have no kids, but I suspect like many of us over 25, I do have a soft spot for these films, which really do make the best of your expensive equipment. In the old days parents with very young children used to go the cinema to watch live action fantasy adventures, wildlife documentaries and cartoons. However after "Toy Story" everything changed, mum and dad suddenly had the option of chuckling at a subversive movie wrapped up in kid-friendly day-glo colours. Whilst there have been plenty of great CGI movies since Pixars debut (most of them from that studio) it's nice to see a film with real moving actors from time to time and so Mr Magorium's Wonder Emporium has arrived to fill that hole perfectly. OK, so I may be alone in thinking this, but the obvious comparison for this movie is The Truman Show and yet, it's so much better than The Truman Show! Will Ferrell and Emma Thompson are excellent and convincing. The story resonates long after the film ends. The script and visuals are a treat. It's both thought-provoking and entertaining. It simply deserves to be seen.

This film had a huge impact on me when I watched it growing up. Yes it is a long film and at times it is heavy going but stick with it. Amazing performances from McQueen and Hoffman. This is the greatest true story of escape ever told. The ending is the most moving, sad and thought provoking I've seen in a film. Long after the credits have gone you will still have Papillon in your head. They don't make films like this anymore.

This is in my top 5 greatest ever movies, falling only behind Goodfellas, Stand By Me and Casino.

I watched the film first and then read the book, and I don't think it matters which way you do it because they are both outstanding masterpieces.

This film will make you feel nauseas, it will make you frustrated, angry, upset, relieved and then leave you with a tear in your eye. I challenge you to hate a movie character from any other movie as much as you hate the guards in this film, you will rebel and support a murder in cold blood, and be thankful when the guilty murderers walk free at the end of it. It is a story of revenge, bitter yet just revenge.

Take away Hoffman, and the often underrated Cruise, and you have a fairly mediocre, long winded and somewhat boring story. To some degree, this is because the film is a bit too pre-occupied with showcasing some of the inadvertent talents of an autistic person. But then again, somehow I feel that would have been fine, had the screen-writers ditched the backdrop of a film (Cruise in financial trouble and needs the inheritance money). Worse still, the backdrop made the final 30 minutes extremely predictable (money isn't everything... blood is thicker than water... blah blah blah).
