This is a great movie `cause it has a little something for everyone. I watch it with my boyfriend (who is pretty reluctant to anything too "christmassy"), because I want to see as many christmasmovies as possible in december, and this is one out of a few he is willing to watch with me. It`s funny and entertaining enough to keep him sitting still, and it also has enough christmas spirit to make me happy! :)

I love this film. It's in my top ten favourite films ever?

Why? Because it is full of drama. Because the script is among the finest ever written (it started life as a play). Because the acting is Top notch (Henry Fonda is absolutely 100% believable). Because the twists and turns of the emotions of the jurors is superb.

There are so few films made with such intelligent and succinct scripts - I love this film to bits and hold my hat off to all who were involved in its making. If you haven't seen it yet. Do so. You won't regret it.

One of the best horror anthologies to come out of the early 80s and one I practically grew up with. Using a very clever homage to the old EC horror comics and with it's black swollen tongue stuck firmly in it's skeletal cheek, this film takes us through a series of absolutely brilliant macabre stories specially written by Stephen King.

I'd almost given up on finding this, I remember Oliver Stone mentioning he was working on this but then heard little else, I should have known it wasn't a priority release and arrived only on R1 very low key. Though I tracked it down on Amazon recently for very reasonable price. Any chance to see more of this superb piece of the cinema is a chance I'm not gonna miss.

JFK remains probably my favourite film of all time and Nixon is it's companion piece. Watching it again I think the gap between the 2 films has got smaller, Nixon is easily Stone's 2nd best in my opinion.

When a would-be president has an affair or better still rapes a young secretary, an old tiring small time theif overhears the event.........

Absolute Power starts off really intriguing with the rapid explosive attack, Eastwood implies but eventually bogs down to his estranged relationship with his daughter-a reference to his work (which he also used in Million Dollar Baby) which he is trying to rebuild and revive as a result of his foolish mistakes he did when he was young.

The editing drags, veering more towards the stake of their relationship than the intital plan and we never get very much out of it since the bare plot never really exists, the film just goes in the direction it wants to go in-which isn't really a bad thing, but not for the conspiracy ... Tora! Tora! Tora! is a film concerned with the broad sweep of the attack on Pearl Harbour rather than select individuals. It is both detailed and accurate which gives it something many war films lack. However, it lacks pace and keeping up with the number of characters involved can be diffcult but overall it is a good film.
