... and one that far too many people haven't heard of. I believe that this was conventionally animated, when CGI was taking an increasing share of the market. Perhaps because it didn't have the high-definition quality of the Pixar films (think Nemo) Disney never seemed to do much to promote it.
However, what it lacked in that area is more than made up for in outstandingly funny script and characterisation - the old-school values of animation. "I've turned into a cow. Can I be excused?" Yeah, the tale is a little hackneyed - an odd couple who need to learn to get along to overcome their enemy - but it is just sooooo funny.
I have never been fussed about the "modern classics" like "Beauty and the Beast" or even "The Little ... Read More:

Erik encounters a woman that makes him think (Samantha Bond). He confronts his grand father with the age old question of why young men have to fight. Erik, "I met this woman, she got me to thinking." Grandfather "What did you do?" Erik, "I killed her."
From this and other conversations Erik finds he must go on a quest to end The Age of Ragnorok. In the process they must do a parody of many old movies such as "The Vikings" (Kirk Douglas, Tony Curtis), "Felinni - Satyricon.", and many Viking myths. Will he complete the quest and also confront the girl of his dreams (Samantha Bond) or will he fail, and sword makers everywhere will have job security?
Everyone does an excellent job of acting. And if you liked Samantha Bond, she is in ... Read More:

I really enjoyed this film. In fact I must have liked it, considering over the past couple of months I have been remembering some of the scenes from it, which leads me to believe this is a must have in my DVD collection.
I found this movie to not only be moving, but had some really great performances. Lets leave out Mr. Murphy for a moment and think about some of the others who really gave it their all. For instance, the lovely and talented Halle Berry. I think this movie really was able to show some depth, which helped in kick starting her movie career. David Alan Grier, well I think he did such a great job and probably not given as much credit as he should have had when this movie came out. Bravo Mr. Grier! You were the man up on that roof! OH! ... This wonderful childrens film is all about a young girl called Harriet, whos ambition to be a writer, and in preperation for this, she writes downeverything she sees in her notebook. However, when this falls into thewrong hands, things go terribly wrong for Harriet and she is left with nofriends apart from her nanny. This is a pretty good film really. The storyline is good, the scripts ok,even the acting is not bad, especially for saying how old the children inthe film are. Notice Vanessa Lee Chester who plays Becky the servant girlin 'A Little Princess'. Overall a nice film for children which is clean and may even teach them afew lessons about friendships and how to keep them. Buy this if you havekids but otherwise save your money.

This 1983 made-for-television movie musical, originally broadcast on the BBC, is wonderful!
A 1980s photographer (Lewis Collins) and advertising designer (Ann Reinking) trying on clothes in a vintage clothing store find themselves on a tour of 1930s nightclubs. They travel to Berlin, London, New York, New Orleans and Paris, taking part in the music and dance of each city. In each nightclub, Lewis Collins finds a woman he repeatedly falls in love with.
In particular, Ann Reinking sparkles and it is surprising that she is billed below Eartha Kitt and the mediocre, lackluster Elaine Paige on the cover of the DVD as Reinking has a bigger role than both Kitt and Paige.
Ann Reinking's excellent acting, singing and dancing abilities are well ... Read More:

This Terry Jones movie really deserves to be much better known. Funny. Intelligent. Poignant. The scene in which King Terry Jones'
dischordant society diappears under floodwaters, denying to the end that there is anything wrong is as perfect a global warming
denial analogy as I have ever seen. And its musings on the nature of religion are smarter than in any other film I can think of.
Don't let the DVD cover put you off. If you've not seen this movie, buy it now.
