The "Thin red line" is film as it should be made, as an art form rather than entertanment. Whoever did the cinematography for this film is a pure genius as it is truly mesmerizing. Id recommend this film to anyone who actually likes good films and wants to get away from the tripe that is currently being made by the bucket load. Although after watching this film it does make you wonder why dont we have more films like this being made on a regualr basis???

The long-delayed Director's Cut of David Fincher's "Zodiac" is finally with us and there is good news and bad news; the bad news is that the new scenes barely amount to five extra minutes in a 2 1/2 hour movie and some of the additional scenes are so brief you'll hardly notice them. Now to the good news; don't be put off by the very short new scenes that have been added, the documentaries and commentaries in this 2-disc set more than make up for it. On the DVD cover, the blurb says that the documentaries are "exhaustive" and, for once, the finished product lives up to the hype.

This is one of the worst "B" movies I've had the misfortune of seeing. Obviously the budget was tight, hence there's nothing but shooting and the camera man only had one orange filter on his camera.

To be honest, i have seen worse. Driller Killer, that was pretty poor, but this runs a very close second. As a werewolf/vampire film, this is a dreadful waste of time.

Bit of a strange one this - it's quite an old fashioned tale, it not only feels as is it's set in the 70's, it feels as if it was made then as well.

It's a real throwback to the likes of 'All The Presidents Men', 'Klute', 'The Parallax View' and all those other paranoid thrillers.

The film is a definite slow burner and isnt afraid to take it's time in building towards it's (slightly open ended) climax. If you're after an action packed thriller (like Finchers 'Seven' for instance) then this probably isnt for you.

This is a well acted, thoughtful ensemble piece with moments or genuine tension, which I think will come to be regarded as something of a classic in years to come.

Fallen [1998]

Denzil Washington stars in this high class chiller in which he plays a cop trying to deal with an opponent who could literally be anybody at any time. A good cast including John Goodman and Donald Sutherland provide excellent support. Combine this with a surprisingly clever script and decent direction and you'll find a film that thrills and surprises in equal measures. No more so than the ending which has a lovely twist which I certainly didn't see coming.

Fortunately for us there is no basis in reality for this story. If there was you'd look at people a little bit differently in future. Its also worth mentioning that I shall never hear a certain Rolling Stones song in the same way again after watching this film.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - The Movie [1990]

Considering that this film was made at the very start of the 1990s, the technology used for the characters of the turtles is outstanding. Having been a Ninja Turtles fan for most of my life, I've always felt that the film does the series justice; the karate experts, the actors and the voice artists work together to make the turtles come to life. Judith Hoag is impressive in her role as April O'Neil, as is Elias Koteas in his role as Casey Jones. New characters, including Danny Pennington, make for an interesting background cast and a good subplot that does not manage to dominate the main focus of the film.

A simply fantastic film and the HD transfer is demo worthy the directors cut adds to the film without making it drag. You simply can't get much more classy than this film and disc, the extras are fantastic too but the one stand out extra has to be the "this is the zodiac speaking" documentry this runs at about 90 mins and features interviews with all the surviving people from the real zodiac case and some great crime scene photos and archive footage. A film you'll never forget, within minutes of watching it you'll be on the internet trying to solve the case yourself and straight back to amazon to buy the books. I can not recommend it enough a real 5 star effort
