I'll never understand why this film walked away with all the awards it got and was so hyped. PULP FICTION does not live up to any such expectations. Supposedly cool it is just senseless banter most of the time, not really funny but utterly ridiculous, with sudden explosions of violence. If you're looking for a black comedy try THURSDAY - a supposed copy of the Tarantino-style, but far better than anything he made.

First things first - watch it at all costs if only for a young Kirsten Dunst. I can't imagine a better Amy and whenever I go back to the book I always imagine her in the part. Full of life, adorable and hilarious. There's a bit I just love, where Jo says "Stop sulking, Amy, you look like a pigeon", and Amy leans back, rolls her eyes and gives a sulky couple of 'coo's. Sadly, she gets cut two thirds of the way through for a 'grown-up' Amy, who is all right but nothing to write home about.
I wanted to like it, but the film as a whole is pretty flawed. The pace is monotonous and some of the best scenes of the book are cut and replaced with dull dialogue. Because the film is of both Little Women books, a lot of character development ... Read More:

I've had this film for ages and have only just got around to watching it. I wish I had watched it sooner. Loved the storyline. It makes you laugh, makes you go 'awwrr', makes you cry and really does make you think about things which are important to you. Well worth watching, whatever your age!

Seen this at the cinema and a couple of times on TV.Bought this to try out my new KEF Kit 100 system and was not disappointed.Still makes you think how young these "men" were and a visit to the American War Cemetery at Madingley nr Cambridge only confirms this.

I liked this film when I first saw it and now I have changed my mind with repeated watching. Like all Tarantino films, the dialogue between characters is unnatural. It feels like one person talking to themselves. The characters all talk in this faux intelligent geeky way about tiny things and there is no discernable differences between outlook or delivery of the characters words. The story doesn't hang together very well and the use of celebrity cameos is just celuloid cronyism. I fell for the hype, save your time and money and don't buy into this trash. Travolta is a fake, Jackson can't act, QT is annoying, Thurman is lovely, Keitel is cheesey and not at all hard like he makes out. There is too much wrong with this film to call it a classic. It's silly. At least Tom Cruise ... Read More:

I'm a sci-fi fan so my comments are biased but I thoroughly enjoyed this mini-series. I would recommend it to viewers who like films of a weird/otherworldy/supernatural quality. Definitely not down-to-earth stuff but then the characters are quite real and believable.

This is certainly an enjoyable film and is not overblown. I came to the film with low expectations and was pleased that these were quelled. My only canard is the brief foray the film makes into the high politics of Jacobitism. The Duke of Argyll was only 33 in 1713, but in this film he's middle aged at least. As commander in chief in Scotland he was a strong Whig and thus anti-Jacobite. It would have been good to have seen Roy's ambiguous behaviour during the Fifteen, too, but that would have been another story. There's a degree of anti-Englishness in the film, but its not too blatant. However, though not a great film, it is an agreeable way to pass a couple of hours.

y'know i don't know why all the people rating this film have rated it so badly. Maybe they're upset that the ending is a little different from the other version. I happen to think this is a wonderfully constructed film. Its beautiful in every sense. You just have to understand the meaning behind the film. Theres a strong moral if you look hard enough and thats where u'll see that this film is great. Also i happen to think that the DC ending is better!! Don't miss this!!

I first watched this film with no idea as to the story, other than what is written on the back of the DVD box. And I am so glad I did. Having now read the novel upon which it is based, I have to admit it is one of the very best adaptations I have ever seen. The music, costumes and script are perfect and the acting superb. Gillian Anderson gives a particularly stunning performance as Lily Bart, the tragic heroine.
I have chosen not to give away the plot in the hope you'll take my word and give it a go, but I challenge you not to cry.
