There really isn't much I can say as The Film Gem Digger's review sums it up perfectly!
I'll never understand why this was canceled!!
Just snap up this DVD!!
If you're a fan of all the shows The Film Gem Digger mentioned, as well as the woefully underrated Girlfriends, and the new show Lipstick Jungle, you'll love this!!

I have to say that I am astonished to see how poorly this film is rated by many other reviewers.
I've read a Jane Austen or two, but not Mansfield Park. Consequently, when I saw this film for the first time I thought it was great, and I still do because I still haven't read the book.
It's clear from reading the many other reviews that the makers of this film have greatly upset the Austen purists by substantially altering the story and characters and bringing in non-original elements such as the references to slavery, which anyone could guess was where the family money must have come from.
However, the fact remains that this is a very, very decent film in its own right. Frances O' Connor's Fanny Price - whether ... Read More:

We (family) started watching this film on TV, but as it was on late, could only watch the first hour. What we saw gripped us, so I quickly rented it on DVD. We sat, wanting to find out what happened to David, the robot boy brought to `life' by a woman who thought she had lost her own son and so was able to programme David so that he looked on her as his `mummy'. Would he find refuge with the wide-boy android in the seedy underworld where droids and people mixed - or would they be caught by the droid-hating humans, who saw fit to destroy robots in terrible and sadistic ways?
This opening promised so much - and yet - we were hugely disappointed. The film after this seemed to lose itself and lurch into fairy stories: Wizard of Oz, Pinocchio (of ... Read More:

Lets face it, Madame Bovary was always going to be difficult to produce. The story really centres around Dr Bovary, and Emma Bovary is his second wife, and you have to read about his first marriage until you get to Emma. Although I am a fan of Flaubert and Madame Bovary, as well as many others, I can also see where a large group of people are coming from when they say that this book is one of the most boring written.Madame Bovary (Penguin Classics) if you would like to read the book.
This production is not a straight transposition of the novel, opening as it does after Dr Bovary has lost his first wife. We see in this drama Dr Bovary getting Emma to become his second wife. Emma has been brought up spoiled by her father. Dr Bovary has been brought ... Read More:

I saw this a long time ago in the theater. I must say that I am not a big Hurley fan but this was the movie that made me into a HUGE Fraser fan! Yes, true, this is not "highbrow" and that is the point. It is entertainment. Here is where I was introduced to Fraser's signature "goofy guy" persona and I fell HARD! This is a fun movie that, if I remember correctly, most of the family can watch...Too bad about Hurley but, there you are, the guys had to have their "eye candy" as well...:):):)

Good fun, watchable, and enjoyable. Harmless, if a little unbelieveable. Well acted and a good collection of faces. Worth watching, but what was King Leonidis doing in middle ages France? lol.
Release Date October 14, 2002
I watched this the other night and am still smiling now. My daughter and I sat glued to it and it had laughs in all the right places. Kate Hudsons' accent was pretty good, not perfect but then neither is mine! Frances O'Connor was fantastic as the slightly dotty sister who always has her nose in a book. But the most oustanding performance has got to be from Stuart Townsend. He was brilliant from start to finish and had us in stitches.
The story is pretty simple...Lucy,(Hudson), is the youngest daughter of a typical Irish family. She's always flitting from boyfriend to boyfriend getting bored with them all very quickly. That is until she meets shy, sweet and perfect Adam,(Townsend). The story is told from the perspective of all the members of Lucy's family, all ... Read More:
