This series is far more than a tourist trap - particularly as guide Francesco da Mosto would rather there were less visitors to his city (to buy less fake glass/carnival masks/plastic gondolas/jester hats)! Francesco is charming, witty and wonderfully insouciant as he presents an informative yet dramatic history of Venice, La Serenissima. He acknowledges its past arrogance and mistakes, whilst laughing at some of the more bizarre traditions (even he isn't sure about the election of the doges), but all the while maintains an awed respect for the stunning architecture and art, engineering and endurance of his home; Francesco is proud to be Venetian, and I only wish I could share the honour.

CIAO CARO, BRAVO!! I have to say thanks to Amazon discounts for letting me know about you and your travels around Europe! I bought them all and I'm enjoying really much your work and attitude so far...then keep up doing always your best, because I think people needs to look around "following your intreresting perspective".

Francesco's Mediterranean Voyage

I have watched Francesco's Venice over and over again, also Top to Toe. I treated myself to Mediterranean Voyage and will watch it repeatedly too. Francesco inspired a visit to Venice, and as a result will make a third trip next year. His home was pointed out to us by our Gondolier, and every time we passed on the Vaporetto, we gave him a little wave. I'd like to think he saw :o) Francesco you are a gem and convey your passion for the history of your city and all things Venetian. You care which makes us care. I confess however, you have managed to tinge visits to Venice with a little guilt. I hope we treat La Serenissima and her citizens with courtsesy and respect. It too would break my heart if I were a native of this magical place if I feared for her future ... Read More:
