I started watching the film knowing no more than it was about the holocaust it's a graphic film, that had me literally open mouthed, and a few of the scenes had me crying. As the film went on towards the end I started to feel the plot was a little far fetched and i got quite angry, thinking it was ruining a film wreaked with sadness about the most tragic event of the 20th century. However it wasn't til it finished, jsut before the final credits rolled that i realised that this story of Wladyslaw Spzilman was in fact true life. I was so shocked and absolutely amazed at this extraordinary tale. It really shuns your life into perspective. I don't know if this was the desired effect but the ending made me feel sad for the Nazi soldier.

'Cromwell' is a great movie with great actors about a great person from English history (Cromwell and not the king!). Bring on an English republic once more I say!

It's definitely one of my favorites of all time because it's got stuff that most movies don't have: Everything. MGM and company unintentionally created a work of popular art that could only be fully appreciated in its original, pristine print, 70mm, super widescreen glory. It is no longer possible to make a film like Ben-Hur. Oh, George Lucas tries with all his computerized graphics, but this is a REAL spectacle, not some virtual one. 8,000 extras, tens of thousands of costumes, a $15 million budget (in the 1950's!), massive sets depict the power of Rome on the grandest possible scale. It took six years to complete production. Yet, its focus remains sharply on the detail, the private human experience of it all. The story doesn't get lost in the enormous vision ... Read More:

Amazingly, the dumb morons at Optimum still think there is a market for widescreen films panned&scanned to 4x3. Even if this is open matte, it's inexcusable - the film is meant to be seen the way it's projected theatrically. A plague on those cretinous brainless congenitally stupid idiotic imbeciles.

This film is a must for everyone. I enjoy Lee Evans' stand up, but was a little sceptical about how he would appear on the big screen. He was an absolute revelation, brilliantly acted and his timing is pure perfection.

After the disappointment at the BBC's 2006 version of the Bram Stoker novel, an antidote is now on offer in the form of the Beeb's previous visitation to the tale back in 1977 and one regarded by many as the best adaptation ever. Directed by Philip Saville, Count Dracula stars Louis Jordan as the titular vampire with Frank Finlay as arch nemesis Van Helsing. The BBC promised at the time that this would be the most faithful adaptation of Bram Stoker's work ever and at a running time of two and a half hours (later serialised into three episodes for repeats) it certainly proved the case.
Jordan acquits himself with an understated performance that has had many praise him as one of the very best Counts. He wisely avoids the "Drrrracula" accent that Lugosi ... Read More:

An interesting film but it's a full screen DVD with a widescreen letterbox. If you have a widescreen TV you will be disappointed.
Release Date October 06, 2008
This was a great film, I bought it on the reviews of others, and wasn't disappointed. All the characters are very good, it is a heartwarming, true-to-life film. Ralf Little was surprisingly good at being 'serious', very endearing - you feel for both the main characters the whole way through. Buy it, you'll enjoy it.
