Two friends, Stan and Billy, take a road trip down south but run into trouble when they are mistakenly arrested for murder in Alabama. The hapless youngsters have no money to hire an attorney but Billy's cousin Vinny (Joe Pesci) is a lawyer so they call on him to help. What they don't realise is that Vinny took 6 attempts to pass his legal exams and, what's more, has no courtroom experience to speak of. What follows is none stop humour and 'laugh aloud' moments as the brash New Yorker sweeps into the hick town accompanied by his strident girlfriend, Mona Lisa Vito (Marisa Tomei). Vinny's lack of court etiquette, such as dressing in leathers and arriving late, quickly upsets the traditionalist judge, played by a brilliantly dry Fred Gwynne. ... Read More:

A white-knuckled "don't-let-this-happen-to-you" thriller that vividly demonstrates what can happen to a guy when he lets other parts of his anatomy do his thinking for him.
Manhattan lawyer Dan Gallagher (Douglas) has it all: successful career, attractive wife, loving daughter. So why not have an extramarital fling with a woman he met at a party while the family is out of town? Sure. Just a one-night stand. No harm, no foul. But there's something very "foul" about Dan's partner in crime, because blonde Alex Forrest (Glenn Close) may have all the right moves in the sack, but she also has an elevator that doesn't go all the way to the top. So when Dan wants to shake hands and part company, Alex will have none of it, and the table is set for ... Read More:

When I first heard of "Pet Sematary" I was clicking through the channels late at night as an innocent 13 year old to see the Spinal Meningitis inflicted girl fling up in bed to give quite a traumatising speech, a scene that has stuck with me since..
Since then I have read the novel, bought the dvd and have been scarying myself ever since.
I am being honest here, but this is probably the most scariest film I have ever seen, I am not sure why because I am 18 now and only just gained the courage to watch it by myself at night with no one in the house (and my house is in the middle of the woods).
Part of me wants to give the film 4 stars because I believe a little bit of the acting could have been slightly better which ... Read More:

This lovely "English" comedy disappeared almost without trace and I just can't understand why.
It stars Michael Caine as a pot smoking British governor of the Godforsaken island of Cascara.
Here it is always hot and windy, there are no beaches, no tourist amenities at all, no arable land, no mineral resources, just a population made up mainly of the descendants of shipwreck victims.
Just as the British decide to get rid of the place a valuable mineral discovery is made and several interest groups clash in the scramble to get the result they want.
Billy Connolly leads the independence movement which gets mixed up with Cuban insurgents as an American oil tycoon locks horns with his eco warrior daughter. The governor's lascivious wife ... Read More:

I recently rented pet sermetary after wanting to watch it ever since i read the book, i loved the book and wanted to see if the film matched it. I got even more excited when i realised the screenplay was written by Stephen King (who even has a small cameo apparance).
The film follows the story well, with a few changes which were in some ways an improvement of the book. Such as Victor following Rachel Creed around, which in some scenes added a hint of comedy to the film. The casts is realativly good however Denise Crosby seems to lay her acting on a bit thick and can be realativly annoying. And Fred Gwynne is perfect as Judd.
However i wondered why Stephen King found it necessary to leave out Judds wife and parts of the film seemed rushed. ... Read More:

Many strange people come from Kansas and all of them are dreamers like Dorothea. And the way to success is paved with yellow bricks. In this film the dream comes true and the means used to do so are standard in business. One share of women, using them and being used by them. One share of good sound logic and practical intelligence. One share of pure righteous and deserved brutality with the higher-ups who are so narrow minded and egotistic that they don't even see their personal interest. One share of a well developed sniffing device known has a nose that is the intuition of a dog but also the best sanity of a man. And you get to the top. Just use the elevator please and don't get it stuck accidentally on purpose because plenty of people are expecting to use it. And ... Read More:

I first watched this film as a young girl, and have since bought it and watched it at least 20 times or more! Millie and her family start a new life in a new town. Millie is instantly drawn to the boy next door who neither speaks nor makes any form of communication at all, but believes he can fly. She takes it upon herself to be-friend him, and tries to get him to open up. What she does find is that he CAN fly, and they fall in sweet teenage love. This is an amazing 80's film, not to be missed by old romantics. Geez, why couldn’t Eric have lived next door to me when I was a teenager!?? Oh well, ENJOY!
