it has lost a lot of its colour so the result is not so nice as expected but none the less it was still a reminder of how good british shows for children are

What can i say about this film i first saw it as a child and loved it. I loved the music and still do. I bought it on Video as soon as i saw it and i think my copy is worn out. It has transferred well to DVD still as lush. Oh if only we had Teachers like Mr Thackery (Sidney Poitier). This film was classic 60's brings back memories of the dark terraced streets and peoples attitudes. If you haven't seen it buy it you will not be dissappointed.

Hi. I'm 33 and remember the series from the repeats in the 80s. It's a classic, as Ben suggests and his review was spot on. I'm right back there seeing pictures and hearing the sounds of the astounded catweazle in awe and fear of how stuff works. If you want to know how stuff works, buy, rent, borrow or torrent this and stick it in your box. And I disagree with the "dull episode" being only that- sometimes stepping off the path leads you just to the right place at the right time. You may be a grade A reviewer Ben, but you've got some maturing to do...and if you really are 13, I'm as agog as catweazle ;=D
What do you think is the youngest agegroup that could get into it? I have a 6 year old nephew that pops over to run around my house and ... Read More:

This is brilliant collection but the only fault that i can find is that the sound and picture quality isn't all that good. With all the technology today it would have been brilliant if it was digitally remastered and given the treatment that it rightfully deserves.
It was great to see the late great Jon Pertwee in one of his best roles again though, but digitally remastering these DVDS would have made me give it 5 stars

Having received Series 1 as a Christmas gift from my sister (prompted by me!) I realised that I had to buy Series 2 to quench my thirst for more!
With two little boys aged 5 and 2, I was very much looking forward to showing them my favourite childhood show from my girlhood more than 20 years ago. I was thrilled that they sat still, glued to the television for each episode without any fidgeting. I think that the simplicity of the storylines and easy-going viewing is a rare thing to our children, their usual programmes are so fast-paced and action packed that these lovely episodes of fun and mischief are a change for them - easy going and very, very watchable.
I must admit, I had forgotten quite how horrible Worzel and Aunt Sally are to one another, ... Read More:

The 1st film is the weaker, Harold's romance takes centre stage, and the comedy loses out a bit, but it still isn't too bad.
The 2nd is great, a feature length version that gets the balance just right, probably the best film version of any British sitcom of that era.
Release Date August 29, 2005
Geoffrey Bayldon returns for another season of magical mayhem. This second series of Catweazle is filled to the brim with joyous hilarity as the loveable magician embarks on a quest to find the elusive 13 signs of the Zodiac.
Probably not as well crafted as season one, but still a joyous romp through Carpenter's peerless creation. Naturally Bayldon shines throughout.

Another BBC 'from small to big screen' film from the 70s which saw many sitcoms of the era go for it such as 'The Likely Lads' & 'Are You Being Served?' Among others.
What makes this one stand out is that its just the best out of the lot.
The writing & acting are combined perfectly to create a viewing that has the humour constant throughout. The legendary Ronnie Barker continues to cement himself as an icon of British comedy as Fletcher which helps make this film stand out.
As with most sitcom films the situation is on a grander scale, having Fletcher & Godber stumble upon a prson break attempt & are forced to escape as well, which then forces the dynamic duo having to break back in to Slade Prison, while trying to avoid Fulton Mackay who's hot ... Read More:
