Everyone seems to have reviewed the Steelbook Amazon Exclusive version of this. I actually prefer this version and it is the one I bought. For one thing I feel that cramming all the discs into one small case means that it gets lost on the shelf amidst the rest of your DVD collection. A substatntial box means that it has more of a presence up there, and also it's not AS big as the original 2001 release so it's still slim. This is due to the extremely slim individual cases, which I prefer than having all discs in one case because each story gets its own front image filling the square and nice images and synposis of each one on the back. (this is contrary to the product image above which makes the case appear as if its the same size as the 2001 ... Read More:

the godfather trilogy on blu ray look better than ever. Anyone who enjoys these films would know £34 or there abouts is very good value considering its got arguably the greatest film ever made among the collection...the picutre quality is utterly gomsmacking...I cannot tell the difference between most modern day films on Blu-Ray...

American films now are routinely full of violence and swearing (though curiously never all that much sex) but are at heart almost invariably juvenile, soft-headed and sentimental. I was shocked by this film - which contains one "Bastard!" and some off-screen violence portrayed by means of a scream - because of the brutal adult honesty of the dialogue and the tough bleak view of human existence. Paul Newman is mesmerising, a great actor and a true star; the histrionics of Damon, Di Caprio, Pitt etc laughable by comparison. George C Scott is maybe even a shade better. The film lets the viewer inhabit a world he wouldn't otherwise know: the seedy smoke-filled pool rooms, gambling tables, bars of a nameless American city. It's not the glossy ... Read More:

This film is one of the best courtroom films I have ever seen along with "12 Angry Men". The young George Scott and James Stewart excell themselves along with the whole crew.
The film revolves around a murder case under peculiar circumstances. An army lieutenant kills a bar owner who allegedly raped his wife. The raped wife is joyful and full of life married with a jealous and easily infuriated Korean War hero who carries a Luger as a memento of the World War 2. The small town lawyer and his team carefully study the case and finally beat the young and succesfull attorney who is on the way up in his carreer.
In my opinion the film tries to give the audience the feeling that people can not be judged harshly with regards to their ... Read More:

This film is actually more funny than the first movie. It actually shows how friends are very important in life and there is someone out there for everyone. A great family movie. You'll want to watch it again and again.
Release Date September 27, 2004
I haven't and won't comment on the first two films. Many have done a fine job of that already and I feel it's a given that the first two installments in the trilogy are masterpieces.
It had been many years since I watched the movies and I have certainly never watched them back to back as I have done this week. And believe me, if you ever have that luxury - to watch 9 hours of classic movie virtually uninterrupted - then I strongly recommend that you do it with The Godfather Trilogy.
The reason I am posting comment on this, the third and final installment, is because I vividly remember at the time of its release, the damning criticism the film came in for both in terms of cashing in on the 'Godfather' name and for the casting of Sophia ... Read More:

Spoorloos, the Dutch/French original telling of this story, was incredibly successful and remains very popular to this day. Unfortunately this, the American remake directed by the same George Sluizer, frustratingly manages to produce what is almost a mirror-image in terms of value. A lot of this has been attributed to the tacked-on ending that pretty much negates what came before, but it is wrong to blame this alone. The film which precedes the climax is similarly disappointing.
**Most of you will now be aware of what happens, but I'll try my best not to give away too much of what Channel 4 viewers voted the 45th Best Scary Moment in broadcast history. The reason for this is that, although the original is more than worth watching regardless of how ... Read More:

I bought this for my boyfriend on his birthday and was forced to sit down and watch them with him. I have to say that i am glad i did as they are great fun. I always thought Christopher Reeve was the first, so i was surprised at this earlier incarnation.
Sure, they obviously had no money and special effects shots are repeated but it does have a nostalgic charm about it.
George Reeves, if a little older than expected, is excelent in his duel role of Superman/Clark Kent. He is extremely likeable with a dreamy masculine voice.

This is a fabulous movie and a great parody on a fantastic character. I first saw this movie as a little girl and it's been one of my favourites for many years. I would give this film more than 5 stars if it was possible, apart from the following problem.
I bought this dvd as a birthday gift to myself (as you do!) and was dismayed when the disco scene started. The music was ok, but when the camera followed Dracula's and Cindy's foot movements, the song was completely out of place and in my head all I could hear was "I Love The Nightlife". Extremely disappointed. Now when I watch the film I just skip it to the next scene, as I can't stand watching something that looks out of sync! If a petition is available to get this song back in the movie, please let me know and ... Read More:
