Not shown in the UK, this US sitcom is basically an earlier version of the Golden Girls with an amazing cast and notable for handling issues of the day with witty one liners sharp enough to cut like a razor blade!!

The problem here is that there were several seasons in all and this compilation will leave you absolutely hooked and wanting to see more.

Actress Delta Burke is notable for her performance here and if you are ever in the USA or capable of receiving USA tv, Lifetime channel often re-run these with great popularity.

If you like Golden Girls, you'll love Designing Women.

Goldfinger - Live At The House Of Blues [2003]

I have bought a few music dvds in the last few years, from bands like Marilyn Manson, Alkaline Trio, Reel Big Fish and Placebo, but in my opinion none of those dvds have such a lastibility like Goldfinger. I just wish these guys would get the credit they deserve as they are a bloody fantastic group.

Performed live at The House of Blues, the band gives an entertaining and memorable show at just under an hour, with songs like Here In Your Bedroom, Open Your Eyes and San Simeon really working the crowd into a frenzy. My favourites have to be Counting the Days, Superman and Mable has to be seen to be believed. By the time they close the show with their rendition of Nena's 99 Red Balloons, its like you wished you were right there.

I love Steve Buscemi so I bought this film on DVD a while back, he's only in one scene really but great as always! I was pleasantly surprised as I thought it looked a bit dubious from the cover. Briefly it's about a girl (Uma Thurman) who preys on rich men, goes home with them, slips them a tranquilizer and robs them, it is quite sexual and violent and the acting reminded me a bit of Taxi Driver, especially Uma. I'm not sure why as the plot is totally different! It's not like some great fancy Hollywood blockbuster, almost like an indie film but I like that kind of film, sepcial effects often irritate me anyway. Would definitely watch again!
